Captain K and his men soon entered a large cavern covered with inlets in the walls. Small lanterns shined light on tables in each of spaces that were soon filled with Sal Silver Gnomes. As they reached the center of the cavern there was a large oval table that appears to be made out of all silver and encrusted with emeralds around the sides. Slak-tor leaped from his throne and quickly took a seat at the table. Looking back at Captain K and his men he invited them to “please sit and relax.” After sitting down for a few moments the men watch as an army of Sal Silver Gnomes began to carry many different dishes out and place them on the tables.

Slak-tor turning to Captain K said “you would not believe how well these little guys can cook. It truly is amazing and they still provide for my dragons as well. After the parade of food had completed and the serving gnomes had taken seats; Slak-tor bowed and said let us give thanks to the gods for all these blessing and all our good friends to share them with. After a second of silence, Slak-tor and the gnomes began to eat with Captain K and his men quickly joining in. During the meal the two old friends discussed “The End War” and what had been happening since. Captain K told Slak-tor of the ravenous plague that was killing his homeland and about all of the magic, science, and actions that had been taken to try and stop it. Sadly, none of these measures were working and Captain K would soon be without a home if nothing was done. Slak-tor said you need the dragon talisman or all will perish to dust my friend. Captain K grinning said “Indeed we do my friend and even more so we need your help to retrieve it.” Slak-tor became quiet and leaned back in his seat thinking about what he knew and what he had heard about the dragon talisman. “There only one way I will do it!” Slak-tor exclaimed. Curious, Captain K ask “what was his request.” “We must fly there on Red; she will get us there in less than a day and she really has not gotten to stretch her wings in far too long.” Laughing Captain K said “Done sir!” Slak-tor yelled out “that settles it we shall prepare and rest tonight and then in the morning we fly to our fate!” Slak-tor instructed some of the Gnome to show the men to their sleeping chambers, while he and some others made arrangement for the adventure at dawn. Later after Red had be prepared and supplies were all packed, Slak-tor looked down at his friends and said “Good work my friends we have accomplished much, but rest well for there is much more work to come when the light of day awakens again.”

The next morning Captain K and his men were awoke by a loud and terrifying roar of a dragon. Shortly thereafter they were lead to the surface by Sal Silver Gnomes and met Slak-tor standing beside Red. “Are you guys ready for the ride of your lives?” asked Slak-tor chuckling as he did. After boarding onto Red Slak-tor instructed them to hold on to the scales of the massive beast. When all were ready Slak-tor simply said up, and the dragon leaped up into the air with its wings beating down. The very trees around the dragon bent each time it flapped it wings.

Suddenly, Captain K and his men could see all of the country side and the mountains that were their destination. In what seemed like a matter of minutes they right on top of them. From the sky they could see the mountains enclosing a dark rocky valley with two large shadowed figures moving within. Landing to the south of the valley the Sal Silver Gnomes quickly set up a camp and located a tunnel entrance that seemed to lead toward the valley. Making sure to bring their weapons and torches, Captain K, Slak-tor, and a small band of men began the trek into the unknown. Moving further and further into the dark tunnel there was a large breeze that would flood the tunnels every few minutes. Moving deeper into the dark they began to see a small flicker of light and feel the very rock they were surrounded by vibrate and shake. Unexpectedly, they began to feel a rush of heat on the breeze that had been filling the cavern. Slak-tor screamed “take cover” as he and the others dove behind stalagmites. While taking cover, a rush of flames shot up the central tunnel burning the very air. Taking up their arms the men began to hurry toward the end of the tunnel knowing that there was a very angry foe waiting. Again, the men were forced to hide as dragon’s fire filled the tunnel and now the very rock around them was shifting with the beast at the end of the tunnel. Finally, reaching the end of the long corridor the men were confronted by a large Red and Black Welsh Dragon. Rearing back the dragon knocked rocks from the nearby cliffs down and lit up the sky with its fire. Slamming its talons down to ground it began to snap its large jaws at Captain K and Slak-tor, whom had taken cover in a small inlet in the rock face. Turning to Slak-tor, Captain K asked him “can’t you tell her to stop?” Slak-tor replied “him” and Captain K yelled “what?” back towards his friend. “This is a male and he is doing more than just trying to scare us. “ Slak-tor declared as he pointed at an area behind the dragon where a smaller different type of dragon was huddled. The smaller dragon was more snake like and golden in color; Slak-tor instantaneously recognized it as an Eastern Asian Dragon, which meant that they were in the presence of a very special type of nest. Thinking swiftly Slak-tor yelled at Captain K to get the draw the male’s attention. “Oh I don’t think that’s a problem” screamed the captain as he rushed out in front to the dragon and slammed his sword into its talon. The dragon roaring began to inhale deep for its next fire burst, but as is looked down to aim Slak-tor locked eyes with it. In a moment, both Slak-tor and the dragon’s eyes began glowing a pure white and they were as one. Captain K stared in wonder as he had never seen how Slak-tor was able to understand dragons or even how he was able to have them help him. Linking with the dragon Slak-tor was able to see all of its thoughts and why it was fighting so hard. He explained to the mammoth creature why the men were there and how they meant no harm to the creatures. The dragon bent down in a more relaxed pose, and Slak-tor began to tell Captain K of a slight problem. “This nest is almost unheard of and probably why the dragon talisman was hidden here. You see dragons normally only breed with their own type, however on rare occasions they find love with a different type and create a whole new breed. I have never seen this until now and that is why they want to keep the talisman. They want to ensure that their eggs and young will not be hunted” revealed Slak-tor. Although I think I can solve this problem for us mentioned Slak-tor as he linked with the dragon again. After a minute, Slak-tor smiled and told Captain K that they “were good to go as long as we can answer to the second dragon.” Captain K was still a little confused about what he meant as Slak-tor pulled him over to the Eastern Asian Dragon. This dragon was even more beautiful up close with scales of pure gold and stripes of silver scattered throughout her hide. As the men got closer there were claps of thunder and the sky above started to flash with lightning. Once in front of the dragon the men could see not only the talisman in the rocks behind her, but four very large eggs. Taking a deep breathe in the Eastern Asian Dragon said in a loud voice “our word is bond and our bond is forever as long as you can tell the answer.’ Yelling at Slak-tor, Captain K said “she can talk and what answer?” Slak-tor nodding responded “yea this breed is really smart and in order for us to have a deal you must answer her riddle.” As Captain K shook his head Slak-tor muttered “I do the dragon thing and you do the riddle thing. It will work out.” With thunder and lightning behind her epic voice he dragon exclaimed “I am with you forever, but you may run out of me. I am never wrong even if you think I am. My value is more than any gold, silver, or gem but I am often forgotten about by all men. What am I?” Captain K took a few steps forward and weighed out the words the dragon had spoken in his head. He looked at the golden creature and answered “You are time!” With his answer the thunder and lightning stopped and the dragon bowed her head answering back “You are correct Captain and the talisman is yours to save your land.” Captain K ran past the dragon and pulled the round silver talisman from the rock. Looking closely he could see it depicted the two dragons he had just faced forever cast together.

He then asked Slak-tor what deal they had made and his friend simply explained the dragons are going to return to the Sal Silver Gnome mines, where he can protect them and help this new breed flourish. Smiling Captain K told his friend that was genius and that they must part ways so he could save his homeland. Slak-tor told Captain K that he knew where he was if he ever needed him again as the Captain and crew set sail for his homeland. With the dragon talisman Captain K was able to restore prosperity to his homeland and save them from the epidemic that would have destroyed them.

@silversaver888 truly your words are too kind, but I do appreciate them very much. As with us all we have things from deep in our past that often shape and revisit us. I think this will be something we may see more of. Very happy that you enjoyed the tale and the silver is stunning.
