An interesting piece from a friend
Hi all.
I got this 1oz Johnson Matthey & Mallory bar from a friend. I was looking it up, but couldn't find much.
Here's what I know.
- It's cool
- It's in excellent condition
- There is a die error on the whole provincial series. The "N" in fine silver is a weak stamp. This was across the series.
- Mintage was less then 1000
Here's what I speculate.
- It's from the late 1970's.
- It's quite a sought after piece.
What I don't know, and hope someone does.
1.What's it worth? Is it just another generic ounce? One is listed on eBay for a heavy premium.
- Where was it minted?
- Who has more to the series they can show me?
- What is the actual mintage?

If you think the mintage is less than 1000, why did they use six digits to show it (000795)?
I have no idea why they did that. All their bars listed on allengelhard seem to have either a 6 number or a letter followed by 6 numbers as the s/n. All with leading 0's.
