Hoodoo ya love.
Hey all,
Time for a picture post of the Alberta Badland scenery and hoodoos.
These things are formed when iron heavy layers are left almost like caps, after wind and water erosion take away sandstone, leaving a pillar. While these ones are disappearing, new ones are being formed elsewhere. The cirlce of life I guess.
Its a really cool area for hiking, albeit a bit rugged and you can easily twist an ankle.
I found a hole, like a little cave, and certain that I would find the bones of a yet undiscovered dinosaur, soon to be named the "Fatabulous Elvisaurus", I went in.
Well, not this time, maybe next year!
Cheers everyone,
That looks a lot like the Utah hikes we went on last year!! Looks like I just added Alberta Badlands to our travel options
Its awesome. A lot like the Roosevelt National park, but a little more interesting, with the archaeological side of it. Utah is pretty awesome too!
Good fun! And i love your dyno-name!!!
😂😂😂
It is fun. If you haven't been, I recommend going there, it's an amazing part of our country!
Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold
The Dino at the end with the angry sky looks awesome! Like he is about to just trample town and eat EVERYONE! 😂
That's the Fatabulous Elvisaurus I'm pretty sure....
What an interesting place! It is a pity that you did not find your dino...Happy Canada Day!
It is a great place. And they are uncovering more bones all the time in the valley, almost every time it rains, and after the spring melt. The museum is growing as well, so I plan to go back next year to see the new wing, and I've looked into going on a dig site, that would be great!
Thanks Ron!
That's it! I'm moving to Canada. Just tell me where it's warm and sunny most of the year and I'm there.
I think that's Winnipeg, lol.
