When in Bilbao Spain you have to visit the Guggenheim museum. So on we went and after a two minute walk from our luxury hotel nearby we noticed a gigantic dog statue made completely of flowering plants. It looked like the @pit-bullion logo a lot. Statue is made by Jeff Koons (NY 1951). Made in 1992 out of 70000 flowering plants and 12 meters high (36 foot).

It is called "Puppy"!

The Guggenheim is one of three Guggenheim musea next to NY and Venice and inside guards prevent you from taking pictures. There is however the outside which is as known as the inside. The architecture is astonishing. Big items are placed around, like a bridge but also the steel spider on the photos etc.

Inside on three large floors with 3-5 large siderooms were two temporary exhibitions and the fixed collection. All worth seeing and very entertaining. It was not crowdy at all which we cannot say from our Dutch museums like VanGogh and the Rijksmuseum where tourists form long cues. Here in Bilbao it was all pretty quiet.

But end of the week we will have a problem.!

We plan to go to Pamplona but as it happens July 6th is the start of the crazy 9 day run with the bulls ! Not an issue you say, and I agree, but hotels are scarce and overpriced enormeously. 300 per night. Never ! Or maybe we should…..
