# 131 - Millennium Quarters - Part 2
To celebrate the new millennium, Canada created a two-year circulating/commemorative program. Each program released twelve quarters per year (one per month) and each featured a unique design.
The 1999 plan featured designs representative of Canada's past. The 2000 plan featured designs representative of Canada's dreams for a new millennium.
Each coin weights 5.83g with silver purity of 92.5% and Proof finish.
The first is the April 1999 "Our Northern Heritage". The design features Inuit art, showing an owl and a bear.
The second is the May 1999 "The Voyagers". It is a homage to the explorers and pioneers that mapped the new lands and created the fur trade.
The third is the June 1999 "From Coast to Coast". It celebrates the Pacific Railway, which connects Canada from coast to coast.
