# 199 - Wisconsin
Continuing our series of the American Half Dollars Commemoratives, we will today present the 1936 " Wisconsin".
As all the commemorative half dollars, it weights 12,5g with a 90% silver purity.
This coin was produced not to mark the 100th anniversary of statehood, which would occur six years later, but rather the start of the territorial government.
The reverse features an arm holding a pickax and a small mount of rocks, an image adapted from the Wisconsin Territorial Seal.
The obverse is an image of a badger standing on a log with three arrows and an olive branch positioned vertically behind.
A total of 25,015 coins were distributed. The actual price is around U$475.00 in this grade.

Do you know why the badger?
Because Wisconsin is known as the "Badger State".
