# 266 - Baseball Hall of Fame
Continuing the Modern Commemoratives Half Dollar series, we will present you today the 2014-D "Baseball Hall of Fame", graded MS70 by PCGS.
All coins of this series weight 11.34g with 91.67% copper and 8.33% nickel. They were issued in Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated finish.
They will be presented in the order they were minted.
The coin was as part of the popular commemorative coin program recognizing and celebrating the 75th anniversary of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
The obverse design of the coin featured a baseball glove carrying the inscriptions “Liberty”, “In God We Trust”, and “2014”.
The reverse featured a baseball with inscriptions “United States of America”, “E Pluribus Unum”, and “Half Dollar”.
A total of 176,446 coins were minted in Denver. The issue price was U$22.95. The actual price is around U$75.00 in this grade.

I like this coin. Its concave format was a brilliant idea from the US Mint.

Interesting coin... this must be the first odd shaped coin made by the US Mint? It is a conservative mint, I am surprised that they veered away from what flat coin. Thanks for showing this coin, @ronaldoavelino. I have learned so much about commemorative coins since you started your coin series, my friend! What a great resource!

I was given this a few years ago, it was really cool to see how they put a curve in the coin! Never seen one like that before!
