# 77 - The Royal Family
Today I will show you how much Canada loves the Royal Family.
RCM issued several coins honoring facts involving the British Royal Family. Here are three different coins issued due to three separated occasions.
The first one is a medallion issued in 1983 to commemorate the visit of Prince Charles and Princess Diana of Wales to Canada in June 1983. It weights 24g with 92.5% silver purity and Proof finish.
The second is a 2011 $15 "The Prince of Wales" from the "Continuity of the Crown" set. It weights 25.175g with 92.5% silver purity and Ultra High Relief Proof-like finish. Its mintage was 10,000 coins.
The third is a 2011 $20 "HRH Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton" issued to commemorate "a fairytale wedding for the 21st century". It weights 31.39g with 99.99% silver purity and Proof finish. Its mintage was 24,858 unities.

RCM commemorates anything and sell the coins very expensively.

I don't know, but knowing RCM they will not miss an opportunity to earn more money...
There are some hardcore collectors of anything to do with The Royal Family, no question.
The premiums are high due to these hardcore collectors.
Those are some beautiful coins you got there! I've been expanding my horizons beyond my regular 5 or 10 oz bars that I usually buy for cheap price over spot and have been adding some coins to my collection.
There's definitely intrinsic value to some pieces like this and not just the spot price value of the silver content in them.
All these coins were bought with some premiums. These premiums depend on the price RCM charged and the general interest of the collectors. Royal family has many collectors.
