Hammer's Pick Of The Week

Well its time for another pick, this one seemed appropriate since its Pirate Sunday here on steemit. The kraken has appeared on many silver rounds over history. This one will diffently be apart of anyone stack collection.

This round comes with a pretty decent over spot price, the details on the obverse of the coin are truly impressive.

Here is a little information about this round provided by JMBullion.

Tales of the Kraken originated in the late 13thcentury in Scandinavia. The seafaring people of Greenland, Norway, and Iceland recount tales of a cephalopod-like sea monster capable of devouring entire ships whole and killing the entire crew. The beast was believed to live in the depths of the North Atlantic between the European coasts of Scandinavia and the Arctic islands of Greenway and Iceland.

All of these 1 oz Intaglio Mint The Kraken Silver Rounds are available to you inside of protective packaging and come from the Cryptozoology Collection. The term cryptozoology refers to what is known as a pseudoscience that seeks to prove the existence of animals believed to be impossible or mythical in nature, such as the Kraken, bigfoot, and the chupacabra.

On the obverse of 1 oz Intaglio Mint The Kraken Silver Rounds is the image of a massive Kraken emerging from the waters to wrap its tentacles around a merchant ship and drag it down to the depths. If you look closely, youll notice a small raft of crew members hoping to escape the clutches of the beast.

Initial accounts of the Kraken in the North Atlantic are attributed by modern-day scholars to a number of cases of misidentification. In the cases where sailors actually encountered a beast, many believe it was sightings of the real-life giant squid species that can grow to 40 or 50 feet in length. Others suggest that the volcanic activity deep beneath the sea of the North Atlantic led to bubbles through gas discharge and dramatic changes in water currents, which sailors may have interpreted as the Kraken emerging.

The reverse of 1 oz The Kraken Silver Rounds from Intaglio Mint includes the mint logo. The capital letter I is featured in the center and includes a beaded ring around it with the name Intaglio Mint.
