⚡Engelhard London - The Gem⚡

An amazing mail call reveal! I know a few collectors and sellers that are from Europe. Normally, there is not a lot of vintage silver that pops up there. Majority of the highly collectible items were produced in the US. One benefit that Europe has over the US is the Engelhard London facility headquarters.

Engelhard Industries had companies set up all over the world. Obviously, those facilities produced many ingot that were specific to that demographic. Engelhard London produced some outstanding ingots that are very tough to aquire. When they are found. They are often packaged up and sent out to a collector in the US.

A dealer I know came across a very rare 1/2kg Engelhard London. THE RAREST silver London ingot produced. The half kilo and 1kg are actually the same size. The difference is the thickness. Making the 1/2kg thinner and very unique in hand.

☝️One of the nicest London's I have seen to date! The toning is blue and green in the daylight. Then changes ingot a darker patina with out the bright light. Majority of the 1/2kg Ingots are a Y prefix and seen in the 6000-7000 serial range. The thin grid pattern on the reverse is a traditional charactoristic.

There is only 1 public sale for this variety. Itnwas an eBay auction from a few years ago. The auction ended around $2400.00 USD. Allengelhard.com shows an estimated mintage of less than 100.
