The Steem Sister Show - Episode 15 // The Upside of Friendship

in #steemsistershow6 years ago (edited)

Welcome to the fifteenth episode of the Steem Sister Show!

Your hosts are @coruscate and @maryjaney. We are two sisters using the Steem blockchain to chat about our life experiences and provide a little entertainment value to the Steemit Community.

Topic of this Episode – The Upside of Friendship

This episode kicks off our week on friendship! We decided that this was just too big of a topic to cram into one episode. This week, we will be discussing the Upside of Friendships, and then our next episode will cover the Downside of Friendship.

Can you guys which episode we had more listener questions on?? You guessed it right.... the downside. People love to get the dirt! We end up covering a really fun array of different questions in our upside conversation - which turned into some pretty interesting conversations!

Here are the questions covered this week:

  • How many really close friends do you have? Are you happy with the amount of close friends you have?
  • Audience question from @cheekah – How much would you sacrifice for a friend? Would you give your life for a friend?
  • Have you ever had friend totally surprise you with something awesome?
  • How much does having mutual interests and activities play into your friendships?
  • What are your favorite things to do with your friends?
  • Audience question from @fitrianizar - How does the dynamic of “give and take” play into your friendships?
  • What are your thoughts on male/female friendships that are totally platonic? Can they stay that way?

What is the Steem Sister Show All About?

We aim to bring more “non-crypto” related content to the Steem Blockchain. Although there is nothing wrong with this kind of content (@corsucate even posts on crypto related material sometimes) – we want to help create a better onboarding experience for new users. We talk a lot about attracting new users to the platform – but if the trending page is filled with crypto posts and flagging wars, they are likely to lose interest quickly.

We hope that by creating content that is more similar to what they are used to seeing on other social media sites – they will feel more excited about being here and creating content of their own!

How Does It Work?

We pick a different topic every episode, and then throw totally random questions about that topic in a hat and go back and forth. We always have a mix of our own questions and some audience questions. Our rule is that we cannot tell each other our answers before filming! So you guys are getting our raw, unfiltered reactions here.

Every episode we announce the next week’s topic so people can submit questions.

Want to win some SBD??

If we chose to answer your question in the next show… we will send you 2 SBD! Now that’s some easy money.

Next Week’s Topic : Our Relationship with Technology

I literally can't wait to see the questions we get for this episode! Next week, we will discuss our relationship to technology - how we manage our time with constant entertainment at our finger tips, our frustrations/intimidations and what pieces of technology we love the most. The possibilities are endless for this topic!

So send us your questions!! Anything on the topic of our relationship with technology is fair game.

Listener questions always end up being the best ones - so thank you in advance to everyone who submits one!

Please support Dtube and stream this video through their service. Here is a YouTube link for those who need it though.

That’s a Wrap!

Mary literally ends up rapping at the end to close out the show... you won't want to miss that!

We hope you enjoyed watching our episode on The Upside of Friendship! We had so much fun talking about our friendship stories and swapping notes on how to maintain healthy friendships. We actually don't hang out with each other's friends very often - and so it was pretty fun to hear each other's stories.

Stay tuned to the end for a fun blooper too!

If you have any thoughts or questions that came up from our "Upside of Friendship" episode – feel free to shoot them in the comments below.

With Love,

The Steem Sisters

I am always supportive to your posts because they are as always motivational..

Excellent video, I enjoy them a lot, and they are very entertaining and pleasant, congratulations.

Hello! I am just checking in because i had issues with my network. The show was a bomb as usual and thanks for picking my question. I never get bored on your show. Keep up the good work! Thumbs up you too!
I look forward to next week Tuesday, we have a very interesting topic there. Technology has done a lot in our lives, especially in the way of entertainment. I love my phone and can't go anywhere without it. How about video games? Love them to the moon and back.
Now my question for the show.
Should we let our attachment to our gadgets affect our relationship with people?
When does our attachment become extreme?
Thank you and see you next Tuesday!

Hello there, your show is really nice. As a lover of technology , i know that it can be very addictive and in some way quite negative. The need to balance our normal lives and the rapidly advanving world has become an important issue that we can no longer ignore. Our tech gadgets have simply become our lifeline. In the world we live in today , telling someone to abandon their tech gadget would be like asking them to commit sucide. It's really a big part of our lives. So here goes my question;can we use the advancements in technology to build up and improve our relationships with people? See you next tuesday.

Where do you live ? Have you got married ? If you are not married then,
@coruscate are you agree to marry me ?
See you again

Hello @coruscate and @maryjaney,..my question goes thus; Your vacation spot does not have cellular service. Do you still go on vacation?

As we know in this technology modern era everything becomes easier. However sometimes it could be bad when we ignore some etiquettes in using the technology itself, especially in having a relationship. Whether with friends, Family, or our special one.
Here is my question. What do you think about "Phubbing" phenomenon, where someone is busy with phone during they're meeting someone else right in front of them. Is it categorise as a bad habit or non-etiquette in relationship? Or you can easily accept this way of life.
Just let me know your wise thought as always.
Thanks Lea!
