MLB Fantasy 8/11

We are back with another edition of MLB Fantasy Today! There is a full slate of 15 games today and some very good match-ups. The playoffs are get closer and closer as the Division races are getting very exciting. Let's get started with our picks with the starting pitcher position.

A Nola P 10500. It has been a very good season so far the the Phillies pitcher. Nola is having the best year in his career and his numbers prove that. He is 12-3 so far with an ERA of 2.37 and a WHIP of .99. He should definitely be in the Cy Young conversation. Today he will face one of the worst offenses in the MLB in the San Diego Padres. I like Nola to have no problem shutting them down and getting the Win.

A Rizzo C/1B 4100. I love this match-up today for Anthony Rizzo against the Washington Nationals starting pitcher Tanner Roark. Rizzo will punish Roark who has struggled big time against left handed hitters of late. Rizzo has been swinging the bat well and should have some good looks to hammer one out in to the bleachers at Wrigley Field today.

G Torres 2B 4100. Torres will be back in the line up today after having a day off earlier this week and should be well rested. I don't expect high ownership here as Torres has struggle of late by only connecting on 6-36 over his last 10 games but I think today he will be able to turn it around against Drew Hutchinson who has an ERA of 6.29. His WHIP is also awful at 1.79 so if Torres can be patient at the plate he could get a walk or two today as well.

M Betts OF 5300. It has been a phenomenal year for the Boston Red Sox and a big part of that is because of the success of Mookie Betts. He is the like MVP of the American League and he has everything working. Betts is batting .352 with 27 home runs and 22 stolen bases. He faces a terrible pitcher today in Yefry Ramirez. Betts will keep it rolling and go over his 16 point fantasy average.
