Sunday Night Football Preview: Cowboys vs Texans

It has been another wild Sunday in the NFL but we still have one more game tonight to watch. The Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans will face off in the Sunday Night Game of the Week. Kickoff is set for 7:20pm Central Standard Time and the game can be seen on National Television on NBC. It will take place at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. The Texans are favored by 3 points and the over/under is 45 points. Both teams are desperate for a win and the weather will not be a factor as it is in a dome.

The Dallas Cowboys have had an up and down season thus far. They are 2-2 and looking for better production from their quarterback, Dak Prescott. His yards per attempt are down this year as well as his QBR after finishing in the top 5 in his first 2 seasons. He does not have much help though at wide receiver and that is a big issue.

The Cowboys running game is strong though with Ezekiel Elliot leading the way. The star running back is coming off of his best performance of the year and you can expect him to see the ball a lot tonight. Elliot has also become very effective catching the ball out of the backfield.

The Houston Texans entered this season with high hopes and big goals. Their quarterback, Desean Watson, was back from his season ending injury from the year before and they thought the were poised to make a run at a Super Bowl. But the season has not gone as they had hoped and they find themselves in a must win situation at 1-3.

A win tonight though for the Texans will get them within one game of the first place Jags and Titans. But if they come up short, head coach Bill O’Brian might lose his job.

J.J. Watt, the teams defensive leader, has promised the city that the Texans will rally and still make the playoffs. He will have his hands full though tonight with Elliot running the ball and it is important for Watt to get pressure on Prescott to kill the passing game.

Which ever teams wins tonight will mean that they are headed in the right direction and could be a momentum building “W.” But the loser of tonight’s match-up will be in big trouble.
