NFL Fantasy 10/8

We are back with another special edition of NFL Fantasy Tonight! This will be a one game version for Monday Night Football so we will have to choose from the New Orleans Saints or the Washington Redskins. I think most of the public will be on the home team Saints so I am going to go the opposite way. Let's get started with the quarterback position.

A Smith QB 14700. Alex Smith has been enjoying some good success in his first year as a Washington Redskin. He has a quarterback rating of 102.21 and he has thrown 4 touchdowns and only one interception. Smith should have a field day against a very weak Saints pass defense. I like Smith to out duel Drew Brees and put up big fantasy numbers tonight.

C Thompson RB 8400. Chris Thompson has had a quiet start to the season but he should get a good amount of carries tonight with Adrian Peterson recovering from a bad ankle sprain. I also like Thompson to catch some balls out of the backfield and play a big role in the screen game. The Redskins are coming off of a bye week and have had extra time to scheme.

J Reed TE 7800. Jordan Reed has quickly become Alex Smith's favorite target this year. Reed has caught 14 balls for 168 yards and a touchdown so far this season. I expect him to be running down the middle of the field and utilize his speed and size against an undersized secondary. The Saints defensive backs will not be able to keep up with Reed and he is going to have a huge night.

The over/under in tonight's match-up is 51 points. We all know that Drew Brees and the Saints will put up big numbers in front of the home crowd tonight but I think Alex Smith and the Redskins offense can keep pace.
