Red Devils Look To Conquer The Unconquered Gunners Since August

Manchester United and Arsenal will be going head to head tonight at Old Trafford for the much awaited clash of the season as Jose Mourinho's men look to turn around their fortunes at home. The Red Devils have dominated Gunners in the past if we look at the previous stats but it won't be easy for them this time around. Arsenal and Manchester United played two matches against each other in the last season and the Red Devils came out winners in both the matches. However the recent form of Jose Mourinho's men won't be enough to defeat the new, improved and dangerous men of Unai Emery.

MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United have been very successful against the Gunners in the past as they have won 16 times more than Arsenal against each other. They are unbeaten in the last 11 home games against Arsenal. They are however, without a win in their last three Premier League games and only winning against the Young Boys in the stoppage time-thanks to Marouane Fellaini, who put a late winner past the Young Boys's defence. They haven't been able to beat the lower ranked teams recently as they drew against Crystal Palace and Southampton.

Manchester United forward players will have to play a key role in order to pierce the defence of the Gunners if they want to come out victorious. Their hopes will mainly rest on the shoulders of Romelu Lukaku(if he plays) and Marcus Rashford. Romelu Lukaku scored the first goal against Southampton the other day and provided Red Devils with much needed impetus moving forward in the game. Marcus Rashford on the other hand was involved in both the goals they scored against Southampton and his presence will be a huge boost for United.
Manchester United will be missing the services of Alex Sanchez who is out due to an injury until new year. Ashley Young has been suspended for one match while Chris Smalling and Eric Baily are both facing injury issues. Romelu Lukaku was also taken off during the last game and it is not certain whether he will play or not.

ARSENAL

Although the Gunners don't have a good enough record against the Red Devils but they have looked brilliant this season and this might be the best time to improve their record against their rivals tonight. The Gunners haven't tasted a defeat in their last 19 matches - a feat which started in August last year. They are a team with huge potential and the glimpses of which were seen against Tottenham Hotspur where they put 4 goals past them after conceding a lead. They have won three consecutive Premier League matches and look well on course for the fourth one.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice against the Spurs in North London Derby which set up the win. That strike against the Spurs which levelled the game was breathtaking as the goalkeeper had absolutely no chance of stopping that. He is the top goal scorer in this year's Premier League with 12 goals and will be a key player to watch out for against Red Devils. Alexandre Lacazette scored the 3rd goal against Spurs after coming from the bench and he might start against United tonight.

The absence of Granit Xhaka can be a big worry for the Gunners as he is suspended because of the accumulation of 5 yellow cards. Nacho Monreal is also out due to injury, however Laurent Koscielny and Mesut Ozil might come back to the playing 11. Danny Welbeck is a long term absentee.

PREDICTION

Manchester United have been guilty of starting slowly this season and that has hurt them badly. They might have an upper hamd over the Gunners in the past but defeating them looks less likely this time around. Gunners on the other hand have some new faces and they have improved their game a lot not to mention their current form.
