We are back with a very special edition of MLB Fantasy Today! The crazy Wild Card games are over and we can now get down to business. Congrats to the Colorado Rockies and the New York Yankees on making it to the next round as their World Series dreams stayed alive and the Oakland A's/Chicago Cubs dreams are dead. There are two games tonight to chose from so let's get it started with the most important position on the baseball diamond, the pitcher.
M Foltynewicz P 9400. It has been a fantastic season for the Atlanta Braves and Mike Foltynewicz is a big reason why. He is 13-10 on the year with an ERA of 2.85. He also has a good WHIP of 1.08. Since the Braves had their division clinched a few weeks ago, they were able to rest some of their pitchers like Foltynewicz. His arm is ready to go and that will be a big advantage over the Los Angeles Dodgers hitters that were in a fight to win the National League West all the way down to the wire. I think he will have big success tonight and get over his 35 point fantasy average.
F Freeman C/1B 4200. I am going to stay with the Atlanta Braves in this position too. Freddie Freeman is also well rested and ready to rip some line drives. He is coming off of one of his best seasons ever in Atlanta. Freeman is batting .309 and has 23 homeruns with 98 RBI. He has had some good success against the Dodgers starting pitcher, Hyun-Jin Ryu, in the past. He could get up to 15+ fantasy points tonight.
N Arenado 3B 4400. Nolan Arenado is having a dynamite year for the Colorado Rockies. He is batting .297 with 38 homeruns and 110 RBI. He is the most feared third baseman in the playoffs and I love the fact that the Rockies are playing in a dome in Milwaukee against the Brewers. Miller Park is very much a "hitters ballpark" and that is huge news for the Colorado line up that are used to hitting in the thin air of Denver.
C Yelich OF 4800. What an amazing September and season it has been for the Milwaukee Brewers. They are led by Christian Yelich who is likely to win the National League MVP Award this year. He was close to a triple crown by batting .326 with 36 homeruns and 110 RBI. Yelich has replaced Ryan Braun as the face of the franchise and he is one of the biggest up and comers in the MLB. He will be zoned in today in front of the home crowd.
C Blackmon OF 4000. Charlie Blackmon is known for his big beard and his wild mullet haircut. But he should be known for his clutch bat. Blackmon continued his solid career this summer by batting .291 with 29 homeruns and 70 RBI. He loves the spotlight and is always ready to come through when the Rockies have needed it most. He will get on base in multiple ways today and if he has a shot at a game winning hit, he will rise to the occasion.
The real excitement of the 2018 MLB Playoffs gets its start today. These teams have battled through a long summer and now we get to watch the best of the best go head to head.
