A telescope for the beginning of adventure with astronomy. Guide for buyers.

There is a day in the life of every astronomy lover that decides to buy a telescope. If you've been using binoculars so far, you've probably already seen a lot of great things in the sky that have stimulated your appetite to see even more. Binoculars are an instrument really essential for those who take their first steps in observations, but they have their limitations. If you want to see the majestic rings of Saturn, the structure of clouds on Jupiter or the wealth of craters on our satellite - we must have a telescope.

I remember my first instrument. It was a Newton telescope with a mirror with a diameter of 100mm. He did not meet my expectations. Why? Because then I was thinking that I would see colorful nebulae in it like from photos. The truth is that the colors visible in photographs with a long exposure time aren't available during the observation. The human eye is able to see colors only on bright objects like planets. Nebular objects require a telescope with a large lens diameter and a dark sky far away from the cities. We have to take into account the place of our residence and answer the question of whether I will be observing on the spot, or rather going to the field? Only moon and planets can be seen in the city. The refractor is well suited for this type of objects. Telescopes of this type are usually expensive, so if you live outside the city, the Newton telescope is the best choice. Let's choose the Dobsonian version. It is a good azimuthal assembly that will allow the beginner to get acquainted with the sky. I advise against the first telescope Parallactic assembly. We see one in the photo below. For the beginer, it will be too complicated. Such assembly is needed for astrophotography, which is too difficult for beginners.

Newton's telescope on dobson mount is the best choice for starters. It offers the best views at a good price. The ideal choice is a model with a diameter of 8 "(200 mm). We see one in the photo below. It is carried out with sitting observations, using a comfortable height-adjustable chair. It can be said that the 8 "diameter is minimal for an adult. In such a telescope, in good conditions, we are able to see a lot of cosmic objects. Go at an astronomical gathering in your area to try out this telescope live.

At the end, it's worth to remember the most important things once again:

In visual observations the most important is the diameter of the telescope lens. It is thanks to her that we have brighter images and greater resolution.

The place where you live, the observation possibilities, the mobility of the instrument is important.

Buy the best optical equipment you can afford.

I hope that I have helped you with some selection of the telescope. I wish you a clear sky and many impressions during the observation.

Greetings to lovers of Astronomy!

The world is round and flat like on the United Nations Flag & the US geological survey map of the world. NASA has being fooling all the gullible tax payers and steAling their money. Wakeup!!! Planets do not exist, they are merely moving stars which are just points of light in the sky. So called space is actually water, hence the weird phenomenon of fish falling out of the sky.

I used to be just like YOU until I pulled my head out of my ass and did some research into the flat earth reality.

Every other civilisation that ever existed that we know of, tell us that the earth is flat. It's only our civilsation in the the last 500 years that wants us to believe we are living on a ball earth.
All the liars happen to be FREEMASONS, JESUITS, AND ZIONIST SCIENTISTS. THEY ARE LAUGHING AT US.

Please don't waste anyone's time with your theories... Can you get this message to your society?? Hop on a rocket and go check things out for yourself.

It's too much dirt in the atmosphere where I live. Only the brightest stars are visible...lol

I also live in suburban areas and to enjoy the dark sky I have to drive about 30-50 kilometers.

I have a 10 inch Meade equatorial mount. Great for star hopping.

If I had the money at the time I would have bought one of those computer controller scopes. Just punch in the coordinates and it swivels over to what you want to see. Nice.

However with star hopping it did force me to learn and memorize the night shy so there is that.

It's a nice thing, but I'm happy to find objects and get to know the sky better by the way.
