Dreamlab: Help the fight against cancer while you sleep with your mobile phone!

So, here's a really cool free app I just discovered that definitely deserves a share.
The name of the app is Dreamlab and what it does is use some of your phone's idle processing power while it charges to help the battle researchers give against cancer.

How it works
The app works by creating a super - computer from all the charging phones that have the app installed. Of course, each phone doesn't do much but theoretically millions of them pack quite a punch!
As the faq in the app explains "one thing slowing cancer research is the limited access researchers have to supercomputers to crunch their complex data. "
With DreamLab, cancer researchers get free access to a super computer that crunches cancer research problems.
Some of the types of cancers you will be helping with include breast, pancreatic, ovarian, prostate, lung, brain, sarcoma and melanoma.
At the moment there are two projects you can help with:
1. Project Genetic Profile

The first one is almost finished (88.3 % completed) but the second one needs some help, it's only at 0.7 % !
Unfortunately, as of today only 100.000 people have downloaded the app so if you like the idea don't stop at downloading it just for yourself but instead tell everyone you know about it! Heck, you can even be a bit sneaky and install it without them knowing. I bet your grandparents won't even notice 😂
Interestingly, and despite the small number of users, the DreamLab team claims that the users of the app crunch the same data in half the time compared to the supercomputer that the Garvan Medical Institute has. So yeah, you can make a difference!
To give you another perspective, 100.000 phones running six hours a night can crunch in three months about the same data as a desktop eight-core processor would, after 300 years if it was running 24/7.
As for the app itself, I found it quite intuitive to use and to set up and the provided faq is more than enough in case you have any questions or problems. The graphics are quite neat too.
All you need to do is select a project and choose how much bandwidth you want to use:

Too bad it isn't a BOINC project so that you could potentially earn Gridcoin. For those wanting to fight cancer AND earn Gridcoin, check out Rosetta@home (and hopefully World Community Grid again in the near future).
On the other hand, if you have an iPhone, this would seem to be an excellent alternative since BOINC is not available on iOS (and likely won't be unless Apple changes their rules).
What I really like about this app is that it's so hassle free to set up. Perfect for those not interested in earning GRC or can't/too lazy/not interested/whatever to set up boinc :)
Sounds very similar to Folding@home (https://foldingathome.org/). It uses idle computers to do complex calculations to solve molecular biology problems (like finding the crystal structure of a protien, hence the fold at home name). Installing an app is probably easier than downloading software to a computer though.

The majority of my household's devices are IOS and this is the perfect alternative to BOINC, thanks for showing us this!
