'Steemit Iron Chef 2018 Act 02 #10’ : GreekyLicious Fruity Popsicles
”Life is colorful and like a popsicle, better enjoy it before it melts!”
Welcome to:
Popsicles are always a great way to beat the summer heat. You can buy it in different forms and varieties or make it yourself, but did you know?? Popsicles were first made during the winter?
Popsicles were invented accidentally by an 11 years old Frank Epperson in 1905 when he left the powdered soda and water mixture with a stirring stick out on their porch on a winter night. The next morning, he discovered a fruity flavored ice treat. ( Source: Mobile Cousine ).
Back to the present 🙃:
Earlier this morning, I made these refreshing popsicles with greek yogurt, melon, avocado and blue berries with a little bit of honey. It’s healthy, delicious and sugar free! It’s also super easy and fun to make! In just 15 minutes of slicing and mixing, 2 hours of waiting game and walaah! The summer fun continues!
This is also my first ever submission for #steemit-ironchef awesome contest by @progressivechef.
So without further ado, here is how I made my greek yogurt fruit popsicles.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Chilling Time: 2 hours &
Total Time: 2 hours & 20 minutes
Serving: 6
Ingredients:
50 grams Greek yogurt
50 grams Blueberry
1 pc. Avocado
6 slices Watermelon
3 tablespoon Honey
Method
Wash, slice and puree the avocado and blueberry in a mixer for about 30 seconds then add yogurt (1 tablespoon each) and honey (1 tablespoon each).
Mashed the water melon. It’s not necessary to puree the melon as it’s already watery.
The fun part! Dividing and mixing the yogurt and fruits to the popsicle molds and creating a colorful popsicles!
And Indulge!
Aren’t they pretty??
Till our next recipe!
