Monday July 2nd:
Bio-Glass Cartilage

Bio glass is a material with combination of polymer & silica that is 3D printed, it can combine the strength and flexibility necessary to provide a viable replacement for human cartilage. Bio glass can be used as a scaffold to allow human cartilage to regrow and it also have self healing properties that allows the materials to re-bond when torn apart.

the material is flexible, strong, durable, and resilient, it is Also the synthetic material that can be made into a biodegradable ink, which makes it possible for researchers to 3D-print custom scaffolds that can be surgically implanted to regenerate damaged cartilage cells in knees, or replace worn-out cartilage discs between vertebrae.¦Source

It was developed originally for vietnam war to help heal bones of veterans, which were damaged in conflict. Cartilage regeneration technology is targeted by big medical device firms to enhance their joint repair, and to take care of patients with early osteoarthritis who is not responded well to conservative treatment.

It also has the ability to encourage cartilage cells in the knee to grow and it has never been possible with conventional methods we knew.

Tuesday July 3rd:
Phobia: Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia the fear of long word.

You might be wondering what kind of word is this, well personally I don't know and I still can't pronounce it.

If you are suffering from this phobia(Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia), there is every tendency that you experience a great deal of anxiety when you come across long words like Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia. This is very funny because I can't even spell it on my own

Lets break the word because you might develop this phobia from over seeing the word. Hippois a greek word that means horse and potam-os is river. The first I broke down is known as water horse and also know as Hippopotamus. According to Oxford dictionary

Hippopotamine is referred to as something very large.

Monstrin the middle of the word is from latin origin of a monstrous being or terrifying, sesquippedalio is gotten from the Latin word sesquippedali which means measuring a foot and a half long then finally phobos which is ××××. Let's quickly see the causes and symptoms.

Symptoms

Symptoms of this phobia can be a mental, emotional or physical problem. The fellow in question would feel extremely anxious or panic attack by seeing long words or thing of a long words.

Causes

A recorded event by the part of the brain like the amygdala and hippocampus which is extremely dangerous or deadly can be a major cause. The human body reacts as if the same event is going to happen again. Sometimes people with the phobia are held prisoner by their feelings of anxiety and panic experienced at seeing long words or thing of a long words.

Psychology: Argument Between the Educated and Uneducated (Who Is More Intelligent)

It all started in my head when I read this article. An educated mind is not a mind that knows a lot, an educated mind thinks in particular way and in doing so it selected and integrates high quality knowledge. Aristotle knows the key property of an educated mind and accord to him

it is the mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without accepting it

But for uneducated mind he would probably say

it is the mark of an uneducated mind to accept or refute a though without entertaining it

  • An educated mind has learnt to think of his own thought
  • it orders the way it takes his data and assumptions
  • It compares his thoughts with others
  • It adopts the security of idea, data and opinion decided on as most reliable and productive
  • The education mind thinks in accordance with reality
  • Educate mine takes responsibilities and respect others

Lets compare both

Educated Mind

When an educated mind gets an information, it checks if it is novel, complimentary or contradictory with his own believe. It also check the quality weather high or low. And education mind is interested in anything that might be of higher quality.

it is always searching for value

Uneducated Mind

When confronted with and information it checks if it is in line with its own beliefs and if it is it accepts and integrates it but if it is not, it ignores. Most situations it is interested in things in line with his own belief and not interested in anything outside its own belief.

it can not be convinced to adopt information outside its own belief

Thursday July 5th:
Artificial skin

Improving the look of an aging skin has been a big research since forever for Dermatologists. Artificial skin is presently available and has improved greatly, however there are new developments which would make it better. Robert Langer developed a second base polymer skin that can copy the appearance of youthful skin instantly when it is applied. The disadvantage is that it only lasts for few days. There is also research in mesh polymer that can self heal just like the marvel character wolverine who can self heal.

Friday July 6th:
Self-healing polymer muscles

A materials that is composed of silicon, oxygen, nitrogen and carbon that can be used to build artificial muscle. This material is able to stretch over 40 times its length and then return to normal.

It also has self healing properties and recover from tear within 72hours of damage. Presently the product has eliminated electrical conductivity by allowing it to increase it link by only about 2% when an electrical field is introduced compared to 40% for real muscles. However the inventor Dr Lin thinks the limitation could be overtaken in short order.
