There are elements in nature that are conductors of electricity and others that are insulators, the known materials that can behave in both ways depending on the stimulus they receive are known as semiconductors, their applications are many in the field of electronic and are a fundamental pillar in technological advances, but among these applications there is one that is to create information storage devices, with the so-called FIELD EFFECT TRANSISTORS, which properties needs a semiconductor to create with this type of devices.

The question title is a bit hard to understand.

May I suggest that you change the title to:

What are the unique properties of field effect transistors?

Also, electronics would be a better classification.

Cheers.
