Businesses on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) increasingly attract individual investors. As of January 2019, the number of individual account holders has reached around 880,000. Throughout January alone, the Indonesian capital market recorded an increase in the number of new individual investors reaching 23,199 investors, single investor identification or SID.

That's the means or double compared to the addition of new investors in January 2018 which is around 11,000 SID.

The Developer Director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Hasan Fawzi, said that last year the total retail investors in the Indonesian stock market based on SID reached 852,340 SID. Over the past year, the addition of SID has only reached 222,533 SID.

Meanwhile, at the end of January 2019, the number has increased to 875,539 SID. Thus, within a month, there have been additional new SIDs of 23,199 SIDs. This is already higher than the average addition of last year's SID which was around 18,544 SID per month.

"We are targeting this year to at least exceed last year's growth. On our internal team, in the representative office, the literacy and inclusion team, we leave the target of more than 300,000 new SIDs this year," he said as reported by www.bisnis.com on Friday (02/08/2019).

IDX targets 1 million SID shares at the end of the first semester of this year. Thus, at the end of this year, there have been more than 1 million parties in the Indonesian capital market. As of Thursday (02/07/2019) yesterday, the number of SID had been around 880,000 SID, so that only 120,000 were left to reach the target of 1 million SID. "If it is not reached at the end of the first semester, the maximum target can be achieved at the beginning of the second semester of this year," says Hasan.

The large increase in the number of investors in the stock market is due to the intense socialization carried out by the IDX through colleges and stock exchanges in various cities. In addition, being a stock exchange investor is very easy and inexpensive. Only with a capital of Rp 200,000, can already buy shares on the IDX. However, compared to the population, the number of SIDs on the Indonesia Stock Exchange is actually still very low. Bisnis di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) semakin memikat investor individu. Sampai Januari 2019, jumlah pemilik akun individu sudah mencapai sekitar 880.000. Sepanjang Januari saja, pasar modal Indonesia mencatat peningkatan jumlah investor individu baru mencapai 23.199 investor single investor identification atau SID.

Angka itu berarti atau dua kali lipat dibandingkan penambahan jumlah investor baru pada Januari 2018 yang sekitar 11.000 SID.

Direktur Pengembanga Bursa Efek Indonesia, Hasan Fawzi, mengatakan bahwa tahun lalu total investor ritel di pasar saham Indonesia berdasarkan SID mencapai 852.340 SID. Sepanjang tahun lalu, penambahan SID baru mencapai 222.533 SID.

Sementara itu, pada akhir Januari 2019, jumlahnya sudah meningkat menjadi 875.539 SID. Dengan demikian, dalam tempo sebulan, sudah ada penambahan SID baru sebanyak 23.199 SID. Ini sudah lebih tinggi dibandingkan rata-rata penambahan SID tahun lalu yang sekitar 18.544 SID per bulan.

“Kita targetkan tahun ini minimal bisa melampaui pertumbuhan tahun lalu. Di tim internal kita, di kantor perwakilan, tim literasi dan inklusi, kita titipkan target lebih dari 300.000 SID baru tahun ini,” katanya seperti diberitakan www.bisnis.com pada Jumat (8/2/2019).

BEI menargetkan 1 juta SID saham pada akhir semester pertama tahun ini. Dengan demikian, pada akhir tahun ini, jumlah investor saham ritel di pasar modal Indonesia sudah lebih dari 1 juta pihak. Hingga Kamis (7/2/2019) kemarin, jumlah SID sudah sekitar 880.000 SID, sehingga tersisa hanya 120.000 lagi untuk mencapai target 1 juta SID. “Bila tidak tercapai di akhir semester pertama, maksimal target tersebut bisa tercapai di awal semester kedua tahun ini,” ujar Hasan.

Besarnya peningkatan jumlah investor di pasar saham disebabkan sosialisasi yang intens dilakukan BEI melalui perguruan tinggi dan pojok bursa yang terdapat di berbagai kota. Selain itu, menjadi investor bursa efek saaat ini sangat mudah dan murah. Hanya dengan modal Rp200.000, sudah bisa membeli saham di BEI. Selain itu, bisnis di saham dianggap lebih prospektif dan terpercaya dibandingkan dengan investasi dalam bentuk lain.

Namun, dibandingkan dengan jumlah penduduk, jumlah SID di Bursa Efek Indonesia sesungguhnya masih sangat rendah. Hal itu yang menyebabkan pasar saham di Indonesia sangat rentan terhadap isu-isu politis dan sentimen pasar. Kendati sebagian besar dari SID adalah warga negara Indonesia, dari segi jumlah modal masih kalah dengan investor asing.

Padahal, jika jumlah saham yang dipegang SID dari Indonesia lebih tinggi, kondisi pasar saham dan perekonomian di Indonesia tidak akan mudah dipengaruhi oleh berbagai sentimen dalam negeri.[]
