Long-term stocks and Bitcoin

I've been spending more time lately looking at stocks as potential long-term investments because of all of the volatility in the crypto market over the last 2 years. This is not to say that stocks aren't volatile by nature, but most stocks have been more stable than crypto over the past 2 years.

However, my belief in crypto as a great long-term investment is stronger than ever for a number of reasons including increasing inflation in the U.S. dollar, the yellow vest movement in France, and several other events. Cryptocurrency may seem to some people like it is disappearing at times, but the long-term investors who usually have a lot of capital to work with seem to remain bullish on the future of cryptocurrency.

Part of my interest for cryptocurrency started with the stock market because I have been interested in the stock market since about 2009 and I almost made several great stock investments I wouldn't be regretting right now. Most of my focus in the stock market has been with blue-chip stocks or larger companies like Google, Netflix, Microsoft, and Amazon. Even though I made small investments into some of these companies the last few years, most of the financial gain I have had so far has been with cryptocurrencies because of their high volatility.

This chart really shows it all. I found this chart on marketwatch, a reliable source of stock market news, and the chart shows approximately how much money you would have if you invested $100 on the day each of these companies went public. According to this chart Nike had there IPO sometime in 1980 so investing back then into Nike would have been very risky as they were very far from the billion dollar company that they are today.

All of these companies would have made for a great return on your $100 investment. The data here takes into account never selling any of these stocks, reinvesting every dividend and accounts for all the gains resulting from stock splits. I remember debating with myself about investing into the Netflix IPO before I knew that much about stocks and I somehow talked myself out of it. That's just how it is sometimes. I'll probably be spending some more time on this channel talking about stocks and crypto because both have the potential to be great long-term investments.

My confidence in the crypto market was renewed once again when I saw Bitcoin at the top of that list, assuming that you were one of the lucky individuals who was able to buy Bitcoin for $0.05 in 2009 and hold onto it till at least sometime last year. The crazy thing about this chart is that BTC is buying Bitcoin in 2009 and selling today it would still be worth about $6.8 million even after the crypto crash. If you had sold this Bitcoin back in 2017, it would be worth much more. The long-term game with Bitcoin looks pretty amazing. Look at that chart!

None of this should be taken as financial advice, invest at your own risk. Let me know about some of your stock investments or Bitcoin stories below.

Professional investors looks at the potentials a stock or crypto currencies have on a long term basis, and I do beleive that been a crypto enthusiast that bitcoin has a huge potential for growth long term and for those that are investing in Bitcoin now they will certainly reap the benefits of their investment in the next ten years which I beleive bitcoin with be worth $800,000 .

I rather invest on crypto currencies for now than in stocks because the type of profits I will gain from crypto in the next 10 years , stocks will not give me such gain @the4thmusketeer

As of now still people is believed in bitcoin and they HODL it even after around 2 year of bearish market that's the person who actully believed in this decentralization and this technology .

Definatly crypto market is same like stock market it is not sure you will get good return but stock market is too big so one person will not be crash whole market .

Slowly slowly this monopoly's will be end and then we can see a good growth of market .

Long-term investment in relation to the stock market usually takes years. But when we discuss it in the context of Bitcoin, the duration is only a few months to a year. Why is that? That is because the crypto market volatility is so high that it does not allow the implementation of strategies for investments that are longer than a year.

Thank you again for this valuable assessment of bitcoi and crypto market. I think I am lucky to be in bitcoin.

Long-term investment is the right place from now on, especially on the issue of Bitcoin prices. The financial world recognizes the return of long-term investment plans, such as making large bets on the company's future or assets that will yield far better results than short-term prospects.

Making money instantly is indeed a utopian dream for investors, but this form of investment doesn't need to be like that. Exciting investment for several years - or even decades ahead - is a good thing for the world economy in general, and can provide more credibility for the Bitcoin industry.

Yes, this chart proves that the U.S. economy has continued to grow pretty well since at least the 1960s so most long-term investments in blue chip stocks were good investments. Also, Bitcoin has still made for a great long-term investment so far, and so we should probably tend to think of a Bitcoin investment as a 5 year investment in my opinion.

One of the biggest forms of misunderstanding around Bitcoin is the idea that investing with this digital currency will generate wealth overnight. Similar to other types of investments, Bitcoin is actually a form of long-term investment. Getting profits and losses in a short time with Bitcoin is no longer done. Investors now understand that Bitcoin will survive and the price will likely continue to increase.

From the point of view of an ordinary investor, every decision made must yield the shortest amount of time possible. The pressure to produce results in the short term continues to accumulate, so that thinking about long-term investment is no longer part of daily activities. Finding a volatile market is not difficult at all, and Bitcoin has been one of the winners in that aspect over the past few years.

Yes, there is nothing that I'm aware of in the U.S. economy that has surpassed the truly historical growth of Bitcoin. Of course the price of gold continues to climb, but it has not compared with a Bitcoin investment made over a 5 or 10 year timeframe.
