Meet O.S.A.S. (2)

in #story5 years ago (edited)

I would see her walk down the street, sometimes I wait at the side to give her a cursory glance when she walks past. She does this like a routine, I wonder where her walk ends, so I followed her one evening and found out that her walk ends where mine started- The church.

"Maybe I did quote wrong, but that is my understanding of that scripture" she said.

"Well, I'm sure you know our lives are hid in Christ, that He paid for all of our sins." George said.

"Of course, that I learnt and know when I was way younger, is there anyone that doesn't know that popular scripture? That one in John 3:16 that says"

John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Smiling he said, "yeah, right. This is my stop, I have to get off now, I hope to see you again and finish this conversation. It was nice talking to you, take care now. Bye."

She waved at him as he alighted and thought him different from the typical men she met in her former church. He is soft spoken, a sharp dresser and has a lovely smile. "No, concentrate girl, you don't need this right now" she scolded herself, yet she smiled even as she got off the bus at her stop. "I must see him again" she decided as she walked to her newly refurbished house.

George

George woke up the next morning with a faint smile on his lips as he remembered how he spent the last evening, already looking forward to the next service so he can see her again, he picked up his Bible for his devotion.

After offering prayers of thanksgiving, petitions, supplications and intercessions (even for her), he settled at his favourite corner of the room to study the word. The verse he opened to got his attention,

Rom5:9 (AMP): Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ’s blood, how much more [certain is it that] we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God.

"Could this be it? Could this be the verse that kept her talking about grace the way she did?" He pondered. There and then he decided to find out more from her. He thanked God for His word and went about his morning duties before setting out for the day.

Her

"Oh no! This alarm failed to wake me up early again today. Did I forget to set it? I have just 30 minutes to get ready and set out for work." She muttered.

As she headed to the shower, she said a quick word of thanks to God, smiled at the memory of the young man she met in church yesterday and made a mental note to herself not to miss the next service as he would surely be there.

Mouthing the words of the hymn Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound... she headed out the door, ready to face the day, after all, she was armed with grace...
