The Great Alexander and Night World

in #story6 years ago (edited)

At one time, King Iskandar Zulkarnain and his troops were about to set out to conquer a region. In the morning before leaving, Iskandar Zulkarnain told his troops: "On the way, we will cross the river at night, take whatever it is that trampled on the river." When night came and Iskandar Zulkarnain's troops crossed the river, there were three classes of soldiers. The first group did not take anything that was trampled on the river for sure it was just a rock.

The second group took the trumpets trampled on the river, just following the king's order. The third took as many as trampled on the river so that the bag was full and the exhaustion continued on the way because it was full of luggage. After continuing the journey and arriving in the morning, Iskandar Zulkarnain asked his troops what did you get last night? When the soldiers check their bags, it turns out diamonds.

The soldier who did not take anything deeply regretted it. Soldiers who took their perfunctory feelings of joy mixed with regret. The earnest soldier felt very happy. The story is quoted from Buya Hamka's book Modern Mysticism.
