में उस स्थान की ओर बढा जा रहा था, जहां उत्सव के लिए
शामियाने लगे हुए थे। समाधि शामियाने की आड़ में होने के कारण
मुझे दिखाई न दे रही थी, इसी से मेरी मानसिक व्यग्रता भी बढ़
रही थी। अब मैं उस दीवार के सामने था, जिस पर कांसे की तीन
मूर्तियां लगाई गई -शहीद भगतसिंह ,शहीद राजगुरु और शहीद
सुखदेव। उन पर परदा पड़ा हुआ था। पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री सरदार
लछमनसिंह गिल ने वह पद हटाया, तो हज़ारों आदमियों ने
हज़ारों तालियां बजाकर अपना हर्ष प्रकट किया। इन मूर्तियों
के बायीं तरफ तालाब है जिसके बीचोंबीच एक चबूतरा बनाया
गया है जो कि तीनों शहीदों की समाधि है यह वह स्थान है जहां
तीनों शहीदों का अन्तिम संस्कार किया गया था। मुख्यमंत्री ने जब
समाधि पर पुष्प अर्पित किए ,तब पुलिस की टुकड़ी ने अपने शस्त्र
झुकाकर श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की, और सब लोग दो मिनट मौन रहे।
यह मौन वाणी का था, सिर्फ वाणी का, मन तो उस समय पूर्णतया
मुखर था। यह मुखरता उन आंसुओं में स्पष्ट थी, जो बहुतों की
आंखों में उस समय झलक रहे थे।
