NEO Earth: Rebels

Year 21XX

Boom!!!

A deafening explosion destroys the serenity of Hollard private school, after that, cries and screams of the students are heard everywhere. As the dust subsides a figure is seen crawling out of the debris.

Cough! Cough!

"Damn! What happened?" Codde ask weakly between coughs.

He then tried to stand but is assaulted by an intense pain in his back. Enduring the pain he manages to finally stand.

Panting, he looks around, only to be shock by what he saw. In front of his eyes are the ruins of what supposed to be the gate of the school and the huge blackened crater on the ground. He also saw several bodies on the lying around, of which several are wearing the same uniform as him.

Trying to hold the urge to vomit, Codde walks away from the ruins, but as he was about to get out he heard several gunshots!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"What the hell!" Codde cursed as he run for cover.

Hiding behind a ruined school building, Codde tried peeking and saw men wearing mask and totting guns!

"Shit! This isn't the legendary terrorist attack on a school right scenario, right?" Codde said, trying to make sense of the situation.

As if trying to prove his theory, the masked men points there guns at the surviving students and staffs, telling them to gather at the gymnasium.

Seeing that the "terrorist" didn't noticed him, Codde did his best to stay still, afraid that he'll be found if he make an unnecessary movement. Minutes later, all of the "terrorist" left the area.

Letting out a sigh of relief, Codde slowly slump into the floor with his back behind the wall. Heart thumping, Codde tries to make sense of his situation. According to his "theory" the "terrorist" planted a bomb at the gate and detonates it when most of the students are inside the school, which explains the sparse number of casualties.

Whether, the "terrorist" still have a bit of conscience left or for another reason, Codde didn't care. For all he knows, it could just have been a coincidence.

What he do know is that he cannot stay here for long. First he's injured. Second, he couldn't be sure that the "terrorist" will not do a quick check of the place. If they did, he might get captured too, or worse...

Shuddering, he carefully crawl towards the entrance, making sure that all he stay as close to the ground as possible.

While crawling he suddenly heard sirens of an ambulance and police cars.

"Shit! These bastards are late!" Codde cursed.

Despite cursing at the authority for their late response, Codde is actually quite relieved. As long as he could go near the broken school gate he'll be rescue!

Unfortunately, reality likes to dashes one's hope as another explosion reverbrates the area!
