Living in a Tibetan Household part 3

Decorations within Tibetan homes are colourful and this follows on with the craftsmanship that the Tibetan people are known for. I came across many beautifully coloured hand painted pieces. One of the most common features in any Tibetan household is the prayer room. Religion and worship and pivotal in Tibetan society and a dedicated area to prayer is always kept in a household. It has a distinct decoration that visibly represents its meaning.

It was certainly eye opening to me and there were various religious symbols and relic inside. I found the Tibetan people to be most generous and appreciated their attitude in making me feel welcome. The natural approach to living where many of the daily amenities are sourced locally and food is part of the daily chores was just a little glimpse into the rich Tibetan culture.
