If you have been following this long series of articles, you may have noticed that I suddenly stopped to post at the end of January 2019, more than 6 months ago, exactly two years after the first post in the series: Summary.

It is not that I have decided to abandon the platform, but I had a kind of acute writer's block. I knew what I was going to write, but I could not do it. Every day, I was telling myself: you should write again, but I was unable to.

The truth is that I surprised myself that I was able to write every week (and for some periods every day) for more than two years.

I started this post more than 2 months ago, but I was not able to finish it.

I will now summarize the last years of this series, as I don't think I would be able to resume it with a reasonable frequency.

Living alone in my apartment in Vancouver and in my house in Harrison Hot Springs, even though my children were joining me sometimes for the week-end, I felt lonely.
After so many years of separation, I had given up on a reconciliation with Magali, so I started to look for another companion.
I started to look online, but I rapidly gave up on this. I found an agency in Vancouver and with them I met a number of women, but nothing worked until I met the fifteenth one, Kati, in September 2008. And we have lived together since January 2009. In April 2009, I left my Vancouver apartment and moved in with Kati in her Burnaby townhouse.
I met her daughter Agi and her sons Peter and Gabor.

In 2007, my third daughter, Gaëlle, suddenly moved to Montreal without telling me or her sisters.

In 2005, my daughter Betty had a son with her boyfriend, Nathaneil.

My son Syrille, who lives in Maryland, had a son Terell in 2005 and a daughter Syilayah in 2007, from another woman.

And in 2009, my eldest daughter Roseline had a son Cyrus.

Every year, I would go at least once to France, for work with AdaCore and to visit my family.

And in 2010, I started to go once a year to Hungary with Kati. She was born in Pécs, where her parents lived. So, I met with her parents, her two sisters and her four nieces and nephews.

Nothing notorious happened during these years, until October 2016:

  1. Kati sold her house in Burnaby and we rented an apartment, still in Burnaby, in the same building as her son Peter.

  2. I discovered Steemit and stared to write in November 2016. I started the prequel of this series A Brief History of my Family in France in December 2016.

  3. I decided to become vegan, mostly for environment reasons.

In March 2018 I bought an apartment in Coquitlam and since then we have been living there Kati and me.

In 2017 and 2018 I participated in SteemFest 2 and 3, and I visited several Steemians in Arkansas, Germany, Denmark, Poland and the Czech Republic.

My mother died in July 2018, at the age of 97. I was able to attend the funerals, 3 days after the wedding of Kati'son Peter with Timi in Romania, from which I drove for two full days.

And tomorrow, I will go to France for 3 weeks with my three Canadian grandchildren: Faith, Nathaneil and Cyrus.

This is the end of this series.

I will try to blog more regularly, probably starting with my trip to France and doing some translations.
