Street photography: Plaza de la Revolución, Cuba
Plaza de la Revolución in Havana is 31st largest city square in the world, measuring 72,000 square meters.
The square is dominated by the José Martí Memorial. Opposite the memorial are the offices of the Ministries of the Interior and Communications, there are giant portraits of the two most prominent figures whose facades features and heroes of the Cuban Revolution: Che Guevara, with the quotation "Hasta la Victoria Siempre" (Until the Everlasting Victory, Always) and Camilo Cienfuegos.
This placed is notable as being where many political rallies take place and Fidel Castro and other political figures address Cubans. Surrounding the square sit a variety of historically and culturally important buildings.
The plaza captures the raw spirit and heritage of Cuba. A trip to Cuba would be incomplete without visiting this square.
