I don't take Photos of people very often, but I do try t get out of my comfort zone and do some shots of people around the city and I noticed a theme in these shots, well in many that I take of people on the street actually.

And one last shot, you may have noticed all of the people in these shots are so busy on their phones they are oblivious to what is going on around them, mind you that makes it easier for me to take photos without worrying about them seeing me taking the photo and getting upset.
The last shot to me seems such a contrast or contradiction, I am guessing these two are together, but yet with being so focused on their phones, it almost makes them so far apart.
I am often on my Phone to check various things, but I am still sure to be aware of what is going around me, and actually, unless something urgent comes in I seldom check my phone while walking around the city.
You may wonder how I know if something urgent comes in if I are not looking at my phone, well I do have an Apple Watch so I can see at a glance when something comes in, if its not important i wait till I am back at my desk or on the train, but if it is urgent thenm I will stop and quickly deal with it.

Creeping on people again i see. I wonder how the nutcracker guard will fare this year 😁
LOL Yeah I guess I am but not to often :)
LOL
Apple Watch good for that! Phones are becoming such an addiction. Seems like a heads-up display like google glass will take off soon. My son gave me a pair of snap chat glasses that he got. Don't remember where he got them but he is a tech developer so he accumulates all kinds of stuff. They have a built in camera. Kind of cool but not enough to really use much lol. Anyway, great pics @tattoodjay!
I heard of the snapchat glasses, I thought it was a fad that wouldn't last to long pretty much like google glass, just never really took off, i think down the line it may be a new variant of them that takes off but they just look weird
but smart watches i have had many variants and love what they do for me
the only possible thing I could see myself doing with snapchat glasses again, is videos. you can use them like a go cam
Ohh yeah I didnt think of that it would be a cool way to make videos
Each time I take the metro I am amazed to see that every single passenger around me is focused on his phone. No more social interaction! The only ones benefitting out of this are the chiropractors, as more and more people accuse neck or shoulder pain due to long hours spent on the phone, scrolling up and down or texting.
Thats a good point i had not thought of yes I bet many end up with aches and pains from this habit and Chiropractors must be doing good business
I check my phone like never. Actually I check a couple of times per day at least.
I just can't imagine what is so continuously intriguing in that phone. I guess I'm funny that way.
I am a bit of a tech Geek, now that I am using smartwatches I don't actually check my phone much, but I check my watch regularly for how many steps I have done, and the weather forecast, plus if I get any texts or emails I see who from on my watch and decide if I need to react to them,
in my job many requests come in that need an immediate response and that when I have to stop and use my phone or get back to my desk.
Understand, I am retired and any thing that comes to me is NOT urgent :)
My SIL wears the apple watch and uses it like crazy. I don't even wear a dumb watch, haven't for years. I check steps when I get home on my phone.
I have been wearing smart watches since the first one came out, I love the technology, I know I probably could not look at the info it gives me and be fine, but I am hyper and like to know whats going on.
I could make excuses why I need it but lets be honest I just like it lOL
FOR TSE: I was going to say ... it looks like we've got a theme going here. In my lifetime we've gone from Lyndon Johnson talking about building The Great Society ... to being The Zoned-Out Society. IYAM, it's not an improvement. Evolution working in reverse.
I don't even have a SmartPhone ... and I don't honestly think I want one. My cell phone is strictly for The Weasel. He's the only one who has the number -- except for the auto-dial spammers. It's only turned on when he's out of the house ... and if the caller isn't him it gets ignored.
The Weasel has a SmartPhone ... and maybe he likes it. I honestly haven't asked. And I may be just as addicted to my computer. But at least I don't walk around glued to my phone. If you think about this, it's really sad. Or ridiculous ... one.
Yes I totally agree some say its the connected society, I think its the opposite, they are disconnected from reality. I do use my smart phone and watch a lot, but not when around people, maybe I am old school but I believe talking is better than texting
I have ended friendships with people who couldn't get through dinner without stopping two or three times to take calls on their cell phones. I thought that was the height of rudeness ... but it seems we've gone from bad to worse.
Yes I find that rude as well my Grandkids hate when they have meals with us I ban any devices at the table LOL
