Need "style" to be able to make a quiet business start moving

Have you ever pushed a broken car? I happen to be. Very heavy at first. Only after the car starts moving will it feel light. This phenomenon is explained by Sir Isaac Newton in the concept of "inertia" which is an important part of Newton's law of motion. Is that inertia? Because I'm not a physicist, it's easy, the concept of inertia can be understood in the following sentence: "that a stationary object will tend to be stationary, and moving objects will tend to move". So an object that is in a state of silence will tend to maintain its silence. That is why a silent car requires a greater force to move, than when the car has moved. And because of the inertia too, then when you're driving on the highway at high speed and braking suddenly, then your body will be pushed forward, because your body is moving forward will tend to maintain the forward motion.

What does it have to do with business? Apparently, the concept of inertia does not only apply to objects and motion of objects, but also can be analogous to business and business movement:

Need "style" to be able to make a quiet business start moving.
This is not a style in the sense of "style", but the style in English is called "force".

When you start a business from scratch, your business can be likened to a stationary object. As per Newton's law, he will maintain his silence. Just like pushing the car in a state of silence earlier. So you don't need to be surprised, in the early stages of business, it really takes a big force to make your business start moving. In addition, those of you who already have a business that has moved at a good speed, must be maintained not to let the business experience a slowdown or even stop. Because, later it will need a great style to make it move again.

The acceleration of your business is affected by the magnitude of your "business".
In everyday experience, it is clearly more difficult to drive a truck than a motorcycle, for example. Because of the larger truck mass, a larger force is needed to make the truck move or change its speed. Likewise, the greater your business, the greater style is needed to make your initially silent business move, or make the business accelerate (change in speed). This "style" if in business can be in the form of human resources, time, capital, etc.

This is why in business other than maintaining speed we must also maintain "mass" or the size of our business. When your business is moving, then with a bigger business size, you will get better acceleration. It is not wrong if you do expansion or increase the size of your business, when you get good speed. Conversely, when your business stops, to make it easier to move again, one way to go is to reduce its "mass" first, so that the force needed to get your business moving back is not too big.

The movement of your business is the resultant of several styles that affect your business.
When you throw a ball forward, why doesn't the ball continue to move straight ahead, but move to curve and fall to earth? The answer is because apart from being affected by the throwing force that you do, the ball is also affected by the gravitational force that pulls the ball to the earth. Thus a car that is fitted with a hand brake, will be very difficult to push, because in addition to the force of force that applies, there is a friction force from the hand brake that is very strong. Maybe you feel you've given a very strong "driving force" to your business, but your business still doesn't want to move. So you have to check, there may be other "styles" that affect your business. Which may even be against your thrust. Just like the friction style of the handbrake.

I even got to experience it. I used to desperately sell a very good online trading software. However, my business cannot move, because the regulation at that time did not allow the software I was selling to be used immediately. The "style" that I gave in the form of capital, labor, infrastructure and time, lost with the frictional style of stronger regulations. But this is not always in the negative sense. For example, my recent experience in selling software tools to help companies implement IT infrastructure management.

Even though the "style" that I mustered was not as big as before, but the results were far better. My business rolled easily. This is because there are other "style" factors that are positive, namely the increasing number of companies that implement "best practice" IT management, either because of regulations, or in the context of good governance. This is similar to pushing cars down the road, being light because of the help of gravity. Maybe you have another example?

In a moving state, your business will be difficult to stop.
Businesses that are already running will tend to run, unless there is a force that stops them. When a car is speeding, even if you turn off the engine, it will continue to run. Of course, until there is a style that makes it stop, such as the friction force of the wheel, brake friction, and so on. So when the business is running well, actually has the momentum to go smoothly. Thus our job as a real business owner is to ensure that no style can slow or stop the pace of our business. For example, one time your business is flooded with orders, but it turns out you don't have enough human resources, or you can't afford to buy raw materials because your working capital is used up to invest in fixed assets, etc. In this case, due to resource management that is not in line with the acceleration of the business, then the business that is going well is suddenly like a sudden braking.

Finally, the most important lesson to remember is, for those of you who are still not daring to try to do business. Remember the principle of inertia. The more you are quiet, the harder you will be to move your business. And when you try, even the slightest movement will make the next business move easier.
