Sublime Sunday: Birding & Lunch

For Sublime Sunday Hubs and I took a car drive down by the shore at St. Mary’s Bay.

We were checking to see if the Great Blue Heron, who frequents these waters, might be back from the South.

But Blue Heron was no where in sight. It still isn’t warm enough for the magnificent bird to return.





Taking my Canon I looked through the lens to see if any wildlife moving in the area.

These two were looking back at me from across the way. There is still snow near the tree line.

Canada Geese

Canada Geese are big sized birds. These ones either stayed around all winter or came back recently from warmer climates.





Seagulls stay here through all seasons.

The geese along with the seagulls are enjoying the open water at the Bay.





A few warmer days are needed. The ice hasn’t completely gone from the edges of the water or forest.


After the sojourn at the Bay we drove around and stopped for lunch at Clam Diggers Restaurant in Cardigan.





I had the fish and chips and Hubs had the scallop dinner.

Clam Diggers is located with a fanatic view of the Cardigan River. It’s spotless inside and the staff greeted us cordially.

The fish was haddock and very good. Hubs was pleased with a feed of scallops and said they were tasty.
