Amsoil Arenacross has sung it's final song...
So the rumors are true, and the rumors always have some some basis in truth. So Field Motorsports have announced that 2018 will mark the end of the current Amsoil Arenacross series in its current form. This sounds like a huge blow but before you spit out your cornflakes it will be replaced!
The Supercross Amateur Racing events will be the new format and that will mean allow Amateur athletes will have to compete in the series in order to build up the 'Road to Supercross' points needed to allow them to enter and compete in the future in the Monster Energy Supercross series.
This is following on from a record breaking series in terms of viewers and a huge increase in people watching the events on TV. 2018 has seen a huge growth in Supercross viewers and The Salt Lake City event saw a massive 5% increase over this time last year.
As far as i can tell, this means Field Motocrosports is trying to combine the brands and make it easier to understand the progression though to the main Monster Energy Supercross series. It's good news i think and i also hope they open up the main tracks to the amateurs and allow them to understand the difference as it is a big one...
