An Israeli Filmmaker Exploring the Topic of Antisemitism | A Documentary Recommendation (feat. Yoav Shamir's "Defamation")

Many truthseekers have been called antisemites more than once for asking basic questions pertaining to existing system structures. Surprisingly to me, at several points during my own activism efforts for a more peaceful society this has also included myself when I dared to criticize the debt-based monetary system and its built-in mechanisms of purposefully created deprivation such as centralization and compounding interest steered by cartels like the Federal Reserve.

Here I was talking about these provably deprivating mechanisms of the system and someone would draw the automatic conclusion that the only viable rationale for this must be an underlying antisemitic motive. I was stunned. Not so much at the baseless allegations but at the degree with which they were made and upheld despite anything I could show or cite that would prove the opposite.

How and what my critique of the monetary system had to do with semitic peoples or - more specifically the jewish people as I was told - I had no clue. Since I know of myself that I do not judge any group of people as a whole I became curious about the radicality and frequency with which these allegations were thrown around even in alternative media circles, but especially within the mainstream media. Eventually the allegation of antisemitism would be used in the media to try and discredit anyone daring to make provable observations about the system, and it has become a worldwide phenomenon in recent years as well.

So I started wondering: What actually is antisemitism? Where does it come from? How prevalent is it in the world and is it factually such a disproportionate threat for society that fighting antisemitism should be the single most important issue of our times?

Fortunately I found a hugely insightful documentary that seemed like an ideal starting place for my investigations into the topic: What better way to explore the common allegations than through the lens of an Israeli filmmaker with a genuine mission to document the severity of this cultural phenomenon through thorough investigation and documentation motivated by his own background to find out why the world is allegedly so hostile towards his people?

Glorious insights and uncomfortable discoveries

You know I really shouldn't spoiler the content of this documentary for you one bit because its value stems precisely from following the trail of allegations without preconceived notions, and to listen to all the people interviewed throughout. Coming to your own conclusions is essential!

While the documentary may seem one-sided at first glance it really isn't. I applaud Yoav Shamir's diligence in staying neutral throughout the film, asking questions and letting the viewer decide for himself in light of the uncovered pieces of information and commentary by the numerous people of opposing views giving their unique take on the subject.

The film won several awards as well and was even praised by many critics for its potential to revitalize the debate around the topic in this most illuminating way.

If you consider yourself open-minded this would be a prime angle to approach this most delicate and opaque topic, probably one of the most feared and misunderstood of our times. It will most definitely not answer all questions pertaining to the allegation, but it sure is a great starting point to begin the inquiry into this murky controversy.

If you want a little sneak peak, here is the trailer for ya <3

Regardless of your current sentiments about the topic, it is in the spirit of putting the puzzle pieces together and to learn something new that I share this movie with you today. Hope it will wow you as much as it has wow'ed me when I first saw it and that it can helpyou to get a clearer understanding of all the controversy surrounding the subject. And to help you come to your own conclusions, regardless of what anyone else thinks.

I often say that every individual has to make up his own mind about any matter where an opinion exists, and this topic is no different. Don't let anyone tell you you can't ask questions.

Since most uploads have been pulled I can only leave a link to a lesser quality bitchute upload for you which is definitely still watchable and impactful. Since it seems Steemit does not support bitchute embeds you will have to follow the following link to watch the full documentary, sorry.

Dear Yoav, I want to thank you for this thought-provoking and important movie you have made here for us to consider! May it help people of all backgrounds to better understand the other side of the argument and foster a pathway to eventually finding out the truth behind all the fervor, hate and mistrust surrounding this highly emotional debate - whatever the truth may turn out to be in the end, that is for any single viewer to decide.

Your movie has been instrumental for me to gain a better understanding of this extreme taboo-topic of our era and I feel it will be a candle in the dark for many people out there as well.

Thanks for posting this - very interesting looking perspective and I shall check it out!

I've just finished watching an Al-Jazeera undercover series (still not aired on AlJazeera due to external pressure (US/Israel/Saudi???) called 'The Lobby', which looks in fascinating detail at some of the mechanics of how the narrative is being influenced and controlled. The expose is of this in the UK as well as the US.

The series of course has been labelled as 'anti-Semitic' by the same forces that seek to control the narrative :)

Your constructive input is always appreciated, will check those out as I had not heard about it, thank you.

Wow, I didn't think I would ever see some actual investigative mainstream journalism again. Impressive.
The parallels are hair-raising as well, both the documentary and the investigative series really go hand in hand with the narrational templates being uncovered. Thanks again for sharing, so that more people may consider this.

Have now finished watching it and my response is even more enthusiastic, parallels hair-raising (the AlJazeera investigations based on the book about the Lobby). Really powerful journalism all round and I echo your thanks to Yoav for this 'thought-provoking' and 'important' movie. What a tour-de-force.

Resteemed!

I'm watching Defamation myself just now and came here to comment and found that you had already captured my thought about the parallels between the two! Yoav Shamir is courageous - what a fascinating, hidden perspective he brings to the viewer! The story kinda reminds me of the Wizard of Oz in some ways. Many thanks again to you for sharing this! May Peace prevail indeed!
