Truffle's her own girl
She marches to her own drum
purring all the while
Well, so much for thinking that Miss Truffle had the litter box thing whipped; she is pure kitten, after all, and for the past couple of days has been alternately been lying in her litter box, or throwing litter around with great abandon. Oh joy.
That said, she's still about the most laid back kitten I've ever been around, unruffled except when she's really hungry, and even then she's relatively quiet, though she does grow more insistent.
I brought her inside for a while today, while the other two cats were outside, and held her in my lap while on discord with The Writer's Block #beta-reader group.
That worked for about three minutes, until she made a break for it and wound up under a table, from which I promptly had to extricate her, with Lolo getting in the way at all times. She spent most of the rest of the time in her small carrier. ;-)
Happily, Lolo was again highly interested but non-aggressive, and while he wanted to sniff and investigate her thoroughly, he clearly means her no harm.
And although he startled her at one point, when he was sniffing her tail as I held her, she seems pretty comfortable with having him so close, and does not seem to fear him at all. Which says volumes about his energy and intentions.
Anyhow, she is a sweetheart, and a very old soul, as are many animals. We weren't expecting to adopt another animal just now, but I'm grateful that she was dropped in our laps, and she has a home with us for the duration.
For those who don't know, @rhondak runs a volunteer dog rescue from her home in Virginia, damned near singlehandedly, and could seriously use our help. She currently has forty dogs in her care, my understanding is that they are mostly larger breeds such as Walker Coonhounds, and she is paying for their care herself, without the benefit of local donations.
All of these dogs require daily feeding, proper veterinary care, to be spayed or neutered prior to adoption, and LOTS of love, time and attention.
Let's all show Rhonda how awesome the Steemit community is, and how much we appreciate her love and hard work on behalf of these dogs, and help her out, each to the best of our own ability. Thank you.
