Introduction

This is an update for @tasteem data in January 2019. Data on @tasteem for 2018 can be found in this post.
After a long period, we have seen a bit of green in January, with crypto prices going up a little bit. It is far from what everybody would wish for, but still it is a good thing.

How this effect Tasteem? Is there an increased activity on the platform? Let’s find out.

Tasteem is rewarding its users for restaurant reviews 😊. How cool! Instead of just taking food photos and putting it on the social media, one can put a bit more effort in it, make a review, post it and get reward for it. This is also a great way to make a restaurant database. Later people can use it when deciding should they visit the place or not.

Recently I have made an overview of Tasteem in 2018, and this post is a continuation of that analysis. The data for January 2019 was collected from the Steem blockchain, arranged and presented here.

Activity on Tasteem

Activity on the platform is in posts and comments. Tasteemers post their reviews from the web platform tasteem.io. Later they get upvote from Tasteem as a reward. Also, there are ongoing contests, and the winner gets even bigger reward.

All the posts and comments made on the Tasteem web are ending on the Steem blockchain.
Posts and comments can be made on their web, but also from the other Steem interfaces like Steemit, Partiko, Busy etc. Because of this, I have approached the data activities in two different ways. The first is showing all the post and comments with the tasteem tag, and the second one is for the posts and comment made only with the tasteem.app.

The total number of posts and comments is show in the chart below. Data for each day was collected and presented on this graph.

As expected, the overall data containing the tasteem tag have more activities that the posts and comments made only through the Tasteem interface.

The total number of posts and comments on Tasteem in January 2019 is 18.830, out of which 8.332 posted from the Tasteem web.

This is quite a difference. Apparently, users post a lot about Tasteem from the other interfaces as well.
