Pizza Felix México, a Tasteem review.
We love pizza. That’s not a secret and if you search in our timeline you’ll see that our last post is of pizza. We love it so much that yesterday we had pizza too, it was Little Caesar’s but still pizza. But last week we had some pizza at a great spot in the middle of the now famous Colonia Roma, yes the same one of the award winner movie Roma.
This is the entrance Its the same place but I need to expose the 2 pics different you you can see how dark and long is the corridor.
It’s fun neighborhood to walk, eat or shop at. It is kind of pretty/old and now it’s the home of a lot of interesting restaurants. Just like Felix Pizza a hidden place in one of the main streets of the hood. From the outside you can spot a neon sign (only by night) and there is a bar with the same name aside the door you need to enter to get to the pizza place. Outside there’s no one to receive you but you see people going in or out, it is also really dark in the night so you could hesitate to enter.
A few steps inside you can spot the terrace at the end of what it looks like the patio of a classic Roma’s house. This revelation of the place is really nice and it's a prelude to what's coming: Neapolitan style pizza.
The place is not certified by the “Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana” but that doesn’t stop them from making great pizza. And they are clearly not looking for the certification; they just want a great place with great pizza. And they do.
This is the menu, it’s in Spanish, but you can tell that most of it is pizza. You can get all the combinations listed and add any extra you want from the menu.
We ordered a traditional Margarita, and it was made with San Marzano tomatoes sauce, a nice touch if you can spot the difference (which is a lot).
To balance our meal we asked for some Pizza Bianca, the Carbo Pepe to be specific. It is a combination of cheese, pepper and one egg just resting over the pizza. We love this one because it incorporates pecorino and parmigiano, a winning combinations wherever you put them together.
Also you can pair your pizza with wine and great cocktails, but I was a little sick so I just asked for a soda. Let’s se if the next time I can get you pictures of the cocktails.

The pizza and the place look very good. We also love pizza but we are on a low carb diet at the moment so we can only eat it once in a while. But there are alternatives, we have made cauliflower crust pizza with pepperoni and cheese.
Here in Cuautla, Morelos we have a very good Pizza and Pasta restaurant called Pan y Vino, maybe I will do a review for Tasteem one day.
