Chill at The Chubs Grill
Chilling with my Best Friend Forever today during lunch at this really cool restaurant, Chubs Grill at Plaza Shell in Kota Kinabalu. This building is considered VIP because Hap Seng Star company is here with its Mercedes Benz Showroom. We could only drool viewing the MB cars... It's okay, we satisfy our hunger in Chubs.

It is a non-halal restaurant, serving alcohol and non-halal meat.
The menu was printed on thick Card Boards and it was eye-catching, every part of the menu. We consumed quite a long time to read the Menu, yet decide - that we had to ask the waiter not to wait for us. So many good stuff!!!

At last, we chose to have
1. Curry with Fragrant Rice + Signature Pork Belly (first time here, had to try the signature dish)
2. Crispy Golden Mushroom (both of us were mushroom fans)
What a special way to plate the curry. Although the pork belly seemed small portion, it really complimented the rice and the gravy. The ratio was just nice, actually. The curry was cooked in Japanese style, sweet and not too thick, less cream than normal curry. Of course, they were aromatic and really comfortable to the taste palate.
The Crispy Golden Mushroom - me and BFF were crazy for mushroom and this one already made us fall in love as soon as we looked at them. When we transported the fritter into our mouths, explosion happened. Literally. The outside was crunchy and inside was woody, mushrommy soft and moist. The fritters were not oily. The batter was seasoned with pepper and salt only. A definitely come again for this.

Before we left, we paid the bill. Honestly, this lunch was quite expensive, it matched the ambience and comfort of Chubs Grill. However, we were happy to pay for the experience. We will come again with our better halves next time. Perhaps, a try on Signature Pork Ribs, Mushroom Soup, Bacon & Cheese Pizza (alongside the Crispy Golden Mushroom again).
