Tasteem Review: Midorie X The Owls Cafe @ Uptown Mall
Another weekend outing with my beloved @enjiliew and her friends. It was a time for me to space out a while from the hustle of work. A rejuvenation session I would say and it worked well for me. Rather than staying all day long working, it is good to have some rest time that stays out of work and get some new inspiration from things we love to do. Exploring around for nice design cafe and learned from the place making is one of my love to do list.
This is Rebecca!
Last weekend, I was in Uptown Mall in Cheras whereby I get to explored more shops than I previously came for just IKEA. We dropped by to this green and welcoming cafe named The Owls Café and it is a collaboration with Midorie, a green wall consultant and supplier in Malaysia. I loved the decoration of the place, filled with hanging plants, green walls, wooden furniture and also rack of terrariums, miniscule plants. The place served a variety of drinks ranging from tea to coffee. The signature of this café is that they serve wonderful waffles. Due to our bloated stomach from late lunch, we can only take in two dishes of waffles.
The sweet waffle that we ordered was called Rebecca, topped with earl grey ice cream, banana, blueberries, almond flakes, strawberries, cheese flakes and also a touch of mint leaf. The sweetness and the richness in flavor elevated the waffle to a different experience. On the other hand, we ordered a stronger taste waffle which was the friend chicken with salted egg waffle. This was like a trendy food for Asia whereby the craze for salted egg products was crazy. For this one, I just took one mouthful to get a taste of it. I was not in the mood to eat that much. Nonetheless, the overall experience was enjoyable.
As for drinks, we ordered this refreshing lemonade after a long session of karaoke. In the café, we enjoyed chatting and exchanging experience with each other. Oh ya, talking about the price, the waffle cost an average of RM16, to me it was worthwhile for an occasional sweet tooth. I also knew that there was another Owl Café in Bukit Jalil but that branch was too crowded and hot, so I prefer this one.
