Last Saturday night, I went out with my family for dinner.
I took my family to an Indonesian restaurant in Bali. It 's called Ayam Goreng Kalasan. It simply means Kalasan Style Fried Chicken.

The restaurant was busy at night with people bringind their family to have dinner there.

Kalasan is the name of a village in Jogjakarta, Java Island, but it is quite popular in Bali. And it happened to be one of the favorite of my family.

When I got there, there were already many customers having their dinner. There were more than 30 tables, I picked one table.

Nearly all tables were occupied by customers. Luckily we got one table. (They did not accept reservation).

If you don't know what to eat, you look at the photos on the wall for inspiration.

For the meal, I looked at the menu. We decided to order two Kalasan fried chickens and two plates of gado-gado. I just had water for drink, my kids had chocolate ice.

After waiting for about 10 minutes, the meal come. Here they are:

The fried chicken was served with steamed rice, raw cabages, and long bean.

It also came with sambal.

The ayam kalasan fried chicken was really tasty. It's not the whole chicken, but rather a quarter of chicken. We could chose to have chicken thigh, which we did.

The fried chicken is quite soft but crunchy outside. It is cooked by soaking and boiling the chicken in coconut water with many different kind of spices for example: shallot, garlic, lime, bay leaf, and pepper. After boiling, the chicken meat is then fried in coconut or palm oil.

On the mean time, gado-gado is mixed steamed vegetables savored in peanut sauce. There is a sambal which you can add if you like to be more spicy. For me, I like the taste of cilli but must not be too hot.

Gado-gado or mixed vegeables with peanut sauce and chili sambal and prawn crackers.

I need to concentrate fully to enjoy the gado-gado.

Chocolate ice for drink.

They were all very tasty. That's why I like to bring my family for weekend to this place..

There are also other cuisine available in this food stall. So, it is not just fried chicken, you can have fried noodle, mix vegetables, tofu or tempeh and many other dishes.

For drink, you can have lime juice, tea, coffee, or milo ice.

All right, that's the end of my review. Thanks for reading.
