All You Can Eat While Enjoying Lake Batur View at The Lake View Restaurant

I went to the restaurant Lake View at around 7 in the morning. There were not any guest yet there. There would be more guests or travelers or hikers coming just before 9 every day. At this time of the day, the hikers would be back from hiking mount Batur.

You can say this restaurant location is just a perfect place to see the view of Mount Batur and Lake Batur. The restaurant is situated on the higher ground on a top of valley while Lake Batur is down below at the valley bottom. This is why the restaurant called Lake View. As you see the view of the lake Batur.

I knew this restaurant opened at 3 AM to accomodate travelers that would go to the top. They serve coffee and packaged breakfast or breakfast box. So, the hikers can have their breakfast later as they arrive on the top.

When I entered the main building, I could see the restaurant staff were still preparing for the breakfast buffet. Since I was there in the morning, I am going to write about it.

I walked the stairs to get to upper floor near the front door. From here, I could see the view of Mount Batur and Lake Batur. I felt lucky because the day was bright so everything is visible. I thought that those people having their meal here would expect to see the view of the lake or the mountain because what the restaurant promise on its name.

The temperature outside the restaurant is about 68F or 16 Celcious. And the altitude is about 1500 meter above sea level. For us, the Balinese, it's quite cold. So, I felt relieved when entering the warm restaurant building.

In this cozy hall, there were about 30 or so tables. There were also tables just outside on the some kind of balcony. At the back side, there were more tables out in the open with the same great view of the lake.

The Buffet Breakfast

This restaurant offers ala carte menu as well as buffet (all you can eat) for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast has less variety of food compared to lunch. I was there for breakfast on my latest visit, but I have been there for lunch as well.

For breakfast, the restaurant serves fried rice, fried noodle, grilled tomatoes, egg plant and potatoes. A staff was ready to cook you ommelette per your request. Another staff would help with dessert.

For lunch, there are some additional food like chicken satay in peanut sauce, pumpkin soup, mix stir fried vegetables, steamed rice, and fried chicken.

Preparing omelette (for me)

A lady was frying bananas for dessert.

With quite a selection of food, you can easily get too much to eat. That's usually my challenge because I like eating, haa. But I was careful not too eat too much. Here is what I had.

I had noodle, grilled tomatoes , egg plant and a prawn cracker.

For dessert, I took the black rice pudding.

The black rice pudding on the last photo was made by boiling the black rice, then later palm sugar was added. When serving, pour some coconute milk to enrich its taste.

My attempt in making food face ended up tragic.

I also had fried banana and laklak (a traditional cake made by grilling the rice flour and molded into round shape) with grated coconut and palm sugar which I made into food face. These two were always consumed while drinking coffee in Bali.

The restaurant also prepared a kind of herbal drink which they called fusion. It's mix of coconut grass, mint and various herbal leaves.

Fruit such as papaya and water lemon was available at one corner. I did not take it, because I could not handle it anymore.

My Thought Abut The Restaurant

The Lake View Restaurant is located in Kintamani village, in a great spot where the guests can enjoy the view of Mount Batur and Lake Batur. It serve buffet for breakfast to cater the hikers who were just back from hiking the mountain, and anybody staying nearby. The restaurant offer quite a large variety food for breakfast and lunch.

I think having breakfast in this restaurant is quite relaxing as we can enjoy the panorama of mountain and lake. It is not a restaurant that we should go every day. It is best to go here when having vacation or holiday where we don't need to rush.
