The Legendary Scissors Cut Curry Rice ! - Review

Happy Weekends all! , this is my second time going there and frankly speaking i cant get enough of it ~

Behold the Beach Road Scissors Cut Curry Rice , started around 1930s , their traditional hainanese curry was past down generations until now, why is it then called a scissors cut curry rice?

Back then during the early 1930s there was many gang fights that broke out occasionally and they would use the cleavers to scare them away or act as a defense , then the great grandfather would then switch it to scissors. You know.. for Peace =)

Till now , once you step into the stall area , you would hear the sound of the metallic scissors cutting the cutlets , pork ,eggs and many more dishes into decent size , and they have mastered it at exceptional speed.

Here You can see a large pot of curry chicken wings and drumstick ~ a must pick to your plate of rice .

What i normally recommend here is the cutlet , black sauce pork belly strips or braised pork , steamed cabbages and sunny side up eggs .

After choosing your choices , they would add a large scoopfull of their singature curry gravy , a sweet black gravy and just a little chilli gravy .

The Final outcome is these Epic Mess of different colors, wide variety of toppings & gooey curry.

Not so appetizing presentation wise?

nooooooooo noooo nooo , wait until you tasted this .

This curry is gooey , strong in flavor that i cant really explain , mixed with black sweet gravy , you have this mixed flavors of curry , sweet , salty and a little kick of spicyness . Comfort food senpai level.

Consistency wise .. the last time i tried it was months ago and it still taste exactly the same , even heard from the older generations that still tasted the same since 1930s .

And that's Consistency on another level.

It's for me my fav here in singapore. My ratings are 4.96/5 .
