Food Sharing #82 - Baume Restaurant @ Hunter Valley, Australia

Hi Everyone,

During our trip to the Hunter Valley over the new year, we visited many places and one of the restaurant we visited was within a winery called Baume. As we were there on the weekend, you have to book to get a table at this restaurant (regardless of how many people you go with). We had a party of over 12 people so the booking was done a few weeks prior to our arrival.

The outside of the winery was like most of them at the Hunter Valley, all nicely decorated to their theme and there were plenty of parking outside. As we go to the restaurant part of the winery, there was a sign to say there are no free tables unless you have booked one ahead of time. The restaurant was very big and it had the rusty vibe to it. The moment we walked in, the smell of food was already around us.

Let’s have a look at some parts of the menu. There was also a pizza board which I didn’t take a picture of as we were too busy deciding which pizzas to order.

As we went in a large group, we decided to share everything so we got 2 large pizzas - chicken & meat lover, 2 salads - Nashi Pear & Mango, 2 prawn linguine, whole backed sole, a variety of sides and flat breads to share. We initially wanted to order more but the waiter advised that the servings are pretty big so there would be plenty there. Lucky we took on his advise or we would have wasted a lot of food.

The food was delicious! As mentioned before, the servings were very big which I guess does reflect on the price but saying that, many places at the Hunter Valley do charge these prices but servings aren’t that substantial. If you are a wine person, you can buy some wine from front and have them with you meal. The prices is on the high side but given the size of each plate and the area we are in, it is not too bad.
