Le Meridien Classy, Elegant and Magnificent

It was busy day for me on this particular day, with back to back meetings and meet up with business partners and suppliers.

Nonetheless, i told my assistant that i need to go back early and get ready for the night dinner at this place . Le Meridien Hotel, one of the 5 * Hotel in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. It is located in the smack of City Center, where about 10min away from the Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Facing the coastline of South China Sea, this hotel has become the eye for the Tourist to stay and also locals like us to celebrate special dinners for special function.

The reason i left a bit earlier from work because it was my birthday on this day and i called up my whole family to join me for dinner especially my parents.

A first look entering the hotel, is classy and elegant, big lobby and cool air condition. Me and family enters the restaurant (same level with lobby), it is big and spacious, charming and smiling waiters awaiting to greet welcome you and show you your table.

This restaurant located inside the Hotel where they serve Buffet Dinner, means literally eat drink til you drop. One thing all my family members have in common is to EAT, we enjoy eating and be fellowship actually.

The ambience is awesome, very nicely lit, fork and spoon are nicely set up, comfy chairs, wide spread and variety of food, i mean really spoiled on choices.

Very nice deco and ambience of the Restaurant. It is very inviting plus the aroma of the food add more flavours to your nose.

They have counters for each delicacy set for each category of food and the chef with serve you one by one. This is the Lamp Leg serve with mushroom sauce or mint sauce. The Chef will specially carve out great part of the meat and serve you.

Lok Lok Station means Food on the Stick, The word Lok Lok or Luk Luk belief derive from Hong Kong for the method they cooking. They will take the meats or vege (usually in skewer) and dip into the hot boiling oil or water, sometimes in a special home made peanut sauce til it cooked and off you go to eat.

Lok Lok usually serve on the street stall and vendors, but this Hotel bring Lok Lok up to another level of Service and Standard.

They also serve Pasta, many kind, many size and many types to choose. Chef wil personally cooked to your preffered taste live in front of you. You can choose your condiments to mixtures the flavour on your tastebud.

Fresh Mussels and Fresh Boil Prawn also serve, This station i was a bit scared off, took one or two is fine, because i can see the word CHOLESTROL on the ICE . LOL.

So many diffrent types of salads are serve, i did not even tried all of them, because so many other food to eat.

Whatever type of bread is serve too, even the breadstick. The kids love it.

On the other side was the Malay Kampung Dishes where all the food was serve on the wok, you just had to scoop it out for your self to your plate. This is Ayam Masak Kunyit Lemak.

This is Chicken cooked with Nangka and Peanut Sauce (Did not like this, because it has the nutty taste)

This is Ikan Asam Pedas, this is a lovely dish, goes very well with rice, not too spicy and not too milky.

They have 6 woks and 6 diffrent types of dishes.

My niece had to order ala-carte Malaysian Chicken Rice due to her pickyness of food. Kids, we cant argue if they want chicken rice.

My Niece (Madeline 4yrs old) finish her Chicken Rice, then she pull her mom fingers and point at the Italian Pasta Corner. Then she gulp her way in for Aglio E Olio for another round. Great on Her, she is Growing up Fast.

The service here is quite impeccable, top knotch, well taken care, good food, good drinks, and wide spread of variety. This pic above, Hotel staff gaves special treat Ice Cream made by the Hotel, that cant find it outside to the Kids. It taste really darn good.

The only picture here is missing is the Dessert Corner, because my handphone battery runs out on me on the last hour, due to the fullness of stomach and my parents was with me, i could not careless on the dessert anymore. Thats the only things i did not take in picture. Oh well, there is always another day for that.

So with that said above, i personally and strongly feel that this is the place i would bring my blind date for a dinner. It is also central , thats the most important. Lol.
