If you can imagine the best, most exclusive hotel in any given area, The Bruce Hotel would be that by far in my small town. It is a rather large place that has only been built and in business for a few years, and boasts only a couple dozen rooms. Not only is it an exlusive hotel, it also boasts a fantastiuc restaurant with top noth chefs and dining experience.

When we were considering treating a partner to lunch, and their slogan is "The best, or nothing" then there was little deliberating on where to bring them. I showed up a little early because this is a rather large deal we are working on, and I wanted to snap some pics so I could share it with the wonderful @tasteem platform and community.

This is the view from the road as you drive up. Grand yet understated and confident at the same time.

IMG_4543.jpg

Getting a little closer, you are greeted by gates that welcome you but still present you with a threshold that you are entering somewhere special. The lions are a nice touch.

IMG_4544.jpg

Closer still, you get a better picture of the place as you are welcomed in.

IMG_4545.jpg

The entrance way is tucked orr to the side like either and afterthought or a secret to be discovered upon closer examination.

IMG_4550.jpg

There is a neat lounge between the host station and the dininr room that seems fine enough to have lunch or a drink while you wait.

IMG_4547.jpg

Our table is ready and waiting for us as the nice central round one by the window.

Our guests arrived casually late but happy to have arrived to dive into conversation.

The menu has a nice assortment from comfort food to fancy and the prices are a little on the high side as expected. This is in Canadian Dollars so not as high as an American might initially think.

After ordering, the waiter arrived with an unexpected and unrequested treat on the house. A little risky as I know of a good many folks who are not fans of mushrooms and this is a tasty hand made cream of mushroom soup appetizer. The neat little garnish is the second best part as the soup was delisious.

I was so hungry because of the late start of the lunch that I didn't remember to take a pic of my Bruce Burger before I tore into it. VERY yummy as I opted for that, having eaten pretty much every other burger in the town from cheap to fancy and wanted to test it against other good ones. It was garnished very lightly which was probably a great idea as it was tender and juicy and every other adjective a burger commercial would use.

IMG_4556.jpg

The Strawberry dessert was very nice as well as it was light yet sweet and a great follower to a great burger.

IMG_4559.jpg

I love to follow a business lunch with a cappucino so prolong the conversation and linger in a nice place. Again, I stirred it before taking a picture of it and missed showing you the neat design you always get with a good cappucino.

IMG_4553.jpg

Speaking of nice places, it was beautiful outside and the owner showed up to greet us for a quick tour of the place.

IMG_4546.jpg

It was a little too cool to eat outside this time of year but this is a place I would like to come back to in the summer. A great location for a date night!

IMG_4560.jpg

If this is only 4-star, I would have to try to imagine what 5-star would be.

Such great facilities, accomodating staff, grand amenities and a delicious meal for a business lunch that was serviced perfectly.

IMG_4562.jpg

One parting shot as we left. This is tiling done by hand by the owner herself as she wanted to leave her mark personally, lend her artistic flair, and provide me with a nice parting picture to share.

What is Tasteem?

very fancy =) I hope the deal went through!!! What line of work are you in (unless it's a secret, hehe)?

I run my own business and work on a few ongoing contracts focusing on Sales Management consulting, IT support, and do some freelance sales. This one is working with a film production company and fostering sponsors/partners for various film-related initiatives.

Just building up steam and steem while I go but it is nice to have a level of freedom due to diversification.

nice!!!! The film project sounds really interesting!

Leave it to me to scummy up the fancy mean by ordering the burger!

Hi @zekepickleman,
Thank you for your entry and your time joining Tasteem's contest.

Highly appreciate your effort to create that review. There is still one point we still feel uncertain, that is the original photo of the menu. I mean could you please give me the pic of the menu above without being cropped.

Thank you and regards,

[Tasteem - Global Supporter] - Lenancie!

Ah yes! Here is the original menu photo.

I originally had it in the post but figured a snap from the PDF would be clearer and better for the viewers? Anyhow, it is a great menu and it changes seasonally so good to have the original photo.

Thanks for helping me learn the ropes @lenancie
