Japanese Tea Ceremony part 3

in #tea5 years ago (edited)

This practice dates back many years ago and the first known tea ceremony was apparently conducted in the 9th century. This is a great number of years after China but an expected difference due to the introduction of tea relying on the trade between both nations. Tea has been consumed for many social and even medicinal properties. Japan would later see its own ceremonies emerge over time and this style would be maintained throughout history even to this very point in time. Cultural retention is an important factor for the Japanese.
