The Way of Tea Drinking Part 1
Japanese tea ceremonies are an experience that many will try out when touring around the country or wanting to dive a little into the culture. The formal process can differ from the more casual setting and I have come to know a little more about the procedures involved. Much formality is packed into the general chain of events and the dress code might be a little different to the western norm of dresses and suits.
Kimonos, fans and essential tools for eating at the ceremony were all things I came to learn about during my tea experience. Perhaps one of the most appealing parts of a tea gathering would be in the setting. Whether seated in a room of tatami or outside in a beautiful Japanese garden it is an elegant and scenic way to enjoy an afternoon of tea.
