but why tea is so popular?
drinking tea began as a medicinal drink in China but in 17th century it attracted British traders.

Since then it grow massively on consumption, so I see marketing traces behind its popularity and success.

Sugar is a by product for tea which is very high in profit margin and added fuel to the sweetness of the tea trade!

though green tea is way too more healthy, it is less in consumption as the sugar is not coming with it, so less marketing effort is there!

these are my beliefs not market facts!!
