Let's get crispy with this chicken!
Saturday night already? Well that went quick. Time to fire up the bbq again and check out a brew that's new. In this case it's Yenda Crisp Lager with one of the most informative yet ultimately boring labels in the beer fridge.
I don't remember anything else by Yenda so far so this could be interesting.
On the hotplate of doom tonight - honey soy chicken sticks with some rice on the boil inside. Glorious.
So let's pour it into tonight's tasting vessel and see how we go:
It's a live one!
Smell - smells like a lager with nothing jumping off the page (unlike the mango from last week) aside from a faint whiff of grain.
Taste - Slightly bready and dry with malted grains in there and I reckon a dab of corn. As it warms you really start to get more of the flavouring coming through. There's a little sweetness in there but it fits in well.
Does go very well with the bbq chicken I must admit.
Not the crispest beer I've ever had (that was an Asahi) nor the dryest (also the Asahi) but getting to the end of the first as the bbq was almost finished made me wish for another on hand. That's a good sign.
Label aside, it's easy basic flavor drinking that goes well when manning the barbie.
3.75 out of 5 meats on a stick
Mmm I was drinking them a couple of nights ago.
